Better trade for somebody…Jets getting exposed lately. I hope ya dont,as a Colorado fan,but I dont think this Jet roster will do much in the playoffs.But hey,Ive been wrong before. And whos to say we will be healthy-worst injuries in the nhl this yr. Getting healthier,but still some key guys out. Im not saying Scmaltz wouldnt help…he would.But your blueline is what I think is overrated,& not very deep. Bottom 6 is pretty bad also. And obviously Scmaltz might be a guy WPG would throw in the bottom 6…or more like middle 6.
You do always have a shot with Hellenbuck though. Other than Vasilevsky-whos in his own class-Id probably take Hellenbuck #2-for 1 game or series at least. Szerkin obviously would be in the conversation,& for a career-Id take Ottenger,cuz of his age. But nothing but props,& respect for Hellenbuck. Giorgiev has been pretty damn good for us also-but still gotta prove it in the playoffs.
Bowness has done a fabulous job also-overachieving in my opinion-& doing it with a team cancer like Scheflie,& a lot of other locker room disention last yr. Dubois is a great player,but not the most unselfish guy either. But your coach has done a pretty damn amazing job so far. Same guy who got Dallas to the Finals-when they had no business getting that far. Granted,the Avs being down to a 3rd string goalie-Michael Hutchinson,& having like 6 other regulars hurt in the bubble certainly helped them survive OT of game 7. But that wasnt Dallas or Bowness fault…his teams do seem to overachieve often.
yeah we aint getting meiers so this guy would be ok. i still hope we get jvr and domi for our run GO JETS GO!
With that kinda deal he’d be a good piece for the future considering that wheeler is getting old and with Lowry and schief expiring

Ok with this. Centre not bad at faceoffs and at 3C. Not bad. Love to find a gritty winger and a two way forward to fill out the third and maybe a deslauriers for the fourth and Lowry can finally be a true shutdown fourth line centre
I don’t like it. Jets really need someone who is a guaranteed top 6 player or a guaranteed top 4 defence man, Schmaultz isn’t bad by any means, but we need something a little bit better than that. We need a big name in our lineup, I’m sick of the jets settling for good enough all the time
Makes complete sense knowing he’ll most likely be 2C next season with PLD leaving. I just hope they don’t trade Lucius Lambert or Rutger for him. I could see Lambo playing 2RW as soon as next season

I Agree Schmaltz but would prefer deal like 1st+Barron/Stanley/Pionk+Heinola+maybe b prospect like chibrikov or zhilkin,torgersson, Gustafson.

He misses to many games due to injuries & his salary in the remaining 3 yrs is way to high vs production.
Why would we trade away our best prospects for this not so good prospect from Arizona?! If anything we should signing Hellebuyck to a 4 year deal, dumping wheeler and thinking about getters rid of Scheifele to go up and get Fantilli or Bedard. Honestly Dubois would probably stay if we had real future talent in the wings.
Instead we’re so set on trying to sell the house for bums off Arizona & San Jose.
I would not be surprised if the Jets’ GM decides this is not the year for a play-off push and goes ahead and deals PLD at the deadline.
