  1. Love it as a Bruins fan. It's one of those deals people are going criticize retrospectively if we don't win the cup, but it makes all the sense in the world at this moment. The biggest asset we're giving up is a very late first rounder, and we're adding one of the NHL's most underrated defenseman to an already scary blue line.

  2. As a long time caps fan, it’s hard to process that we probably aren’t going to make the playoffs, but I think this kind of trade was necessary so they don’t end up like the red wings did.

  3. Les go bs. Maybe another offensive weapon to leafs and canes both on our list so both good teams but iwant see crown how teams have whiteoutts and chants how bout Bruins fans in all black with black towels waiving big bad bruin style first ever blackout scary see other teams faces coming in there blacked out inside and on scoreboard terrifying amazing site it would be so fans organization make this happen Les give em bruin blackout

  4. I think they sold a little too cheap but as a Caps fan they need to retool. I'm not mad they are selling just need to go ahead and a retool/new Coaching staff at minimum for next year

  5. I’m late but as a caps fan I am gonna miss orly and Garny. Maybe the two hardest workers we’ve had in recent memory. It’s also so tough seeing the team head towards a rebuild. I knew it was inevitable but In my life it’s gonna be the first time seeing them not go for the cup

  6. As a Die hard caps fan, I think that this deal helps out the future of this team which is starting to look more and more clear. They have lost 6 straight now including tonight to the WORST team in the league. The GM has stated that there will be no complete rebuild while OVI is still under contract. I think it will be interesting to see how active the caps are at the deadline. There were 9 scouts of opposing teams including 2 from the stars and 1 from the lightning. Both teams looking for an extra body at the deadline. Personally I think Nick Jensen would be a great fit for the lightning. Smaller defenseman that can skate and move the puck. On an expiring deal as well. Now for the Stars, I think any of the caps defenseman would help them out with an extra body on the back end.

Im also thinking that the caps may try to see what they can find in a deal involving one of those 1st round picks, maybe they try and go after a younger guy with some term at a reasonable price that is already established in the NHL. They would be idiots to trade their pick away as for their Point % would put them at 10th worst in the NHL. We haven't seen a top 10 pick since 2007 more than 15 years!

We will see this weekend what the caps will do moving forward with two big games against the rangers on SAT and sabres on SUN. If they lose both games more importantly the one to the sabres, SELL SELL SELL

  7. Washington was in need for draft picks, and didn't loose players for nothing. Boston bolsters their depth in an all out push for the cup. It's a good trade. The caps got great value out of players they weren't likely to resign anyways

  8. At least they made a decision to sell. Dallas refuses to make one, so they never get anything for UFA's or get better for the playoffs.

  9. Boston got two really good player Bruins fans are gonna love Hathaway he brings alot of sandpaper and a great energy player Orlovs gonna be great as well really sad to see them go

  10. Can’t lie, I had a feeling Rangers would go for Kane when NY payed cheaply for Tarasenko relative to their assets. Also do you think Orlov trade could mean Capitals may use those assets for Chycrun?

  11. Big bs fan. Kinda confused. Like orlov but love our dcore. Gryzlyk is awesome and forbert eats pucks for every meal so it'll be interesting to see how he does with McAvoy. Wouldn't be surprised if this was a Thomas Kaberle situation.

  12. Orlov is an excellent top four dman. One of the better open ice hitters of the last decade and one of the only guys who still lays old school hip checks. Plus he has some offensive razzle, scores big goals, and has a cup to his name. Boston got a real dawg. I would rather root for him in Boston than watch him play golf here

  13. Thought that was biz in the thumbnail at first scrolling by lmao

  14. Trading up for Kane would also help out Blackhawks future. A small price to pay for salvation

  15. I hate the Bruins more than any other team in the league. I do, however, believe that this move is a smart one for Washington. Probably also a smart idea for Orlov and Hathaway to give them both the best chances of winning a Cup. But yeah, Bruins can eat shit as far as I’m concerned.

  16. i hate that Caps are losin Orlov but it sounds like keepin him wasnt in the cards. other than that a very necessary trade for the Caps

  17. Good trade for both teams. Since washington made this trade, they will most definitely miss the playoffs this season, but what a good year to do that. They have tons of pending free agents, they should sell everyone and get as much value as possible, and play all the younger guys waiting to come up to the NHL.

  18. I may be the ONLY one thinking this trade has ALL the hallmarks to be a super bust and hurt the Bruins.
Think about it. Bruins are the most offensive and best defensive team in the league, by a LARGE margin.
They HAVE their chemistry and balance.
Adding or removing anyone who has been consistent on the roster would make a HUGE impact and hole to be filled.
Orlov is better than gavrikov, but he is STILL a new player with a new skillset, style of play and now the bruins have to manipulate him to work with their defensive mindset or this trade , while good on paper, could have actually hurt the team because now it has to readjust its chemistry.

Its a decent trade, better than Gavrikov's, but if it is just a rental.. its a costly one and one that forced the team to change what was already working and be forced to readjust again once he is gone.

    I'm optimistically skeptical for now.

  19. I honestly hate seeing the Bruins get better. The East is already going to be a war and the Bruins didn’t need to go out and make it even more of one.

  20. Ovi getting an extra long summer this year will only help him catch Wayne's record and selling could help them get some young studs in their draft. Caps were demolished by injuries so they are probably better off doing this them sneaking in and getting beat by Bsoton or Carolina in the first round.

  21. Funny you mention Hathaway being the ideal Bruin, I live about 40 min from Boston and play roller hockey w his cousin lol

  22. As a non-Bruins fan, I don't see this as the trade, that makes them "that much better" for playoffs. Orlov is expensive and regressed…Caps knew this and ran with the value. Hathaway is barely a 4th liner. Nice return Caps. Bruins ain't going to the ECF.

  23. so should the jackets just go back to trying to work out an extension for Gavrikov? he's probably their best defenseman at the moment and their defensive core is ROUGH rn

  24. hi i love this trade burines will be great and hope they sign these guys to long term deals thanks for the video.

  25. Hathaway has an offensive touch too, last year he put up 3rd liner numbers
