To say that was a pathetic effort would be an understatement.

  2. homiej420

Worst game of the year. That tops that chicago game for me honestly

  3. Zealousideal_Sky4614

Kane sucks d sucks Igor sucks. Season is a wash won’t even make the playoffs. Time to tear it down

  4. music_chris

Larry Brooks: Lindgren left arm in a sling

  5. doctordert

If Lindgren goes on LTIR, that frees up 3m cap space, I think. Does that mean that Kane trade can happen sooner than Friday?

  6. dr00bles1

Gallant called Lindy “day to day”

  7. Zuramaru29

I honestly can’t tell but is our inability to score making our D more aggressive trying to create offense that is leading to these numerous and all too common odd man rushes? Or are they just simply playing like dogshit?

Offensively we are too pass happy and our passing has been abysmal. Can’t hold possession, especially at the blue line.

Key has been noticeably bad. And he looks like Trouba in the beginning of the year.

It’s hard to recognize the team that was just recently on a massive point streak… let’s hope they get it back together for tomorrow.

  9. dankeykanng

No team is perfect but the Rangers’ flaws seem a lot more pronounced than you’d ideally like for a team expected to make a deep run.

The good news is that was pretty much what people said about last year’s team as well so it’s obviously not the end of the world or anything.

  10. Tommybrady20

    Lindgren in a sling

Maybe The only solution if we don’t want to look very mediocre defensively the next few weeks is probably throw him on LTIR and try and get a Justin Braun type

  11. Jmeyers08

I truly can’t wait for this Kane shit to be done. People on this sub act like he’s going to come to the rangers and just fix all of our problems.

  12. VALIS666

The thing with their struggles lately, there’s really nothing to do other than hope good players get themselves back on track. I have no idea what juggling the D pairs would do since they all suck right now except maybe Lindgren.

I also assume playing with 11F is a detriment, but only a minor one and doesn’t answer why their effort is so lax.

But whatever, sucks right now but in the course of a week this team is going to have one of the game’s greats joining them up front, and maybe even another D. Eyes on the big prize in June.

Let’s take stock of Saturday, shall we?

☑️ Lost Lindgren to an injury that appears serious
☑️ played about as poorly as they have all season
☑️ Managed to need Shesterkin pulled
☑️ Traded a former 1st rounder for a couple of dirty towels, some rolls of lime green stick tape, a box of concession napkins and a juicy 2026 7th rounder.

    Panicking.

The biggest annoyance about this game for me is it’s going to feed into the “Igor slump” when, while he didn’t play *elite*, this game was 100% a defensive meltdown. He’s had a few clunker games the last two weeks but this one I put 1000% on the play of the skaters in front of him.

  15. the_mair

This team has such a terrible ability to bounce back after getting goalied.

Hellebuyck standing in his head is what it is but then followed up by two pathetic performances against average or bad teams is inexcusable. You have to have better mental fortitude than that.

Like right now I feel like they get goalied once in the playoffs and they’re done which doesn’t cut it for the amount of talent on this team.

  16. ccasazza

Miller was awful. But Fox actually had a lower game score. He had a -3.5

  17. mbsmilford

Now it’s starting to suck. C’mon boys fix this.

  18. Didn’t watch but looks like we should trade for reaves

  19. The last few games have kind of reminded me of how we opened the season in October.

We were getting a lot of shots, but giving up a lot odd man rushes and quality chances. When our shots were going in, we’d find a way to win, even though we gave up a lot. When they weren’t, we’d lose and lose badly.

We played some great defensive hockey in December and January. I’m confident we’ll figure it out. Just have to hope we stay healthy in the meantime

  20. fictionalreality08

Missed the game but what’s up with Shesty. Is Lindgren done for the season. Am sweating guys…

  21. PanarinGoalSandwich

Cracker Island is very good if you are looking for the next thing to do today.

  22. Darclite

    Afternoon game against the Caps.

I had something to do this afternoon and couldn’t watch, but I knew before I checked there would be a loss and a player who left with an injury.

Genuinely think we would fare better against Team Canada than we do against this team

  23. Teknicsrx7

Team looked just as uninterested as they did the past few games. Everyone reaching with sticks and gliding, no one going to the middle of the ice (except Chytil). Only time something happens is when 1 or 2 guys suddenly give it a shot, then it fails and they go back to moping around. The D zone play and just transitioning it forward has been abysmal.

I don’t think there’s any adjustments that are gonna fix this, something is in their heads that they need to snap out of.

Really reminds me of the early season slump when they hung Halak out to dry consistently

  24. glacier_bay

People are going to say « It’s just a slump, no big deal ». Maybe those people aren’t aware that the playoffs are six weeks away. « Just a slump » might be no big deal in November, December, even January, but not at this point in the season. Now is when you want to see a team’s identity begin to coalesce, and playing with strength, speed, and confidence through that identity. What exactly is the identity of this team? What is it that they do consistently well? What is it that gives the other team cause for concern? It seems that this team is a collection of highly skilled parts, which is great, but the parts don’t quite fit together.

And so they will add another highly skilled part in Kane. Great, truly. But the thing this team is missing most is leadership quality, ie – someone that unifies them, someone that raises their level of play above the competition and makes them greater than the sum of their parts, someone who plays bigger in the roughest moments of the hardest games. Leadership gives a team’s backbone a layer of reinforcement called confidence. Too often during games this team appears to become demoralized too easily which allows the game to get completely away from them. Adding Kane isn’t going to fix that problem. The Blackhawk that this Rangers team probably needs most is not Kane but Jonathan Toews, ie – Captain Serious, but that’s never going to happen. I just don’t see which of these Rangers is capable of stepping up and carrying this team but this team desperately needs a leadership hero right now.

All I wanted for my birthday was a Ranger win. Well, there’s always next year.

TJ Oshie had a great game, except for the Lindy hit. Get well Lindy!

  26. MrBigChest

This time last week, we felt unbeatable. Now we feel hopeless.

    Hopefully next week is better

  27. Iniestakovy

All those first round picks and man what do we really have to show for it?!

  28. rangers9458

If we are expecting Kane to be our savior, we got another thing coming. He doesn’t play any defense which is what we need right now. In other words, he will fit right in.

Going to be a long 23 games until the end of the regular season. Igor is in for a rough ride. How many games is Ryan going to miss?

If we can get through the first round, then all bets are off.

    LGR!!!!

  29. glacier_bay

Did I hear Gallant say that Lindgren is day to day?

I mean, Lindgren is truly Beric Dondarrion. Lindgren routinely gets killed on the ice. They bring him to the locker room. In comes Thoros to resurrect him. He’s good to go. Don’t be surprised to see Lindgren ignite his stick on fire mid-rush one of these days.

  30. jerejeje

Gallant said Lindgren was day to day lmaooo this fucking guy.
