  1. Smart move by the Caps. If they win the wildcard race all they've won is getting their asses handed to them in the first round. Bow out of this race for nothing and start loading up. As a Caps fan I want them to strip this thing to the studs. Beddard is your cup now. You know what to do.

  2. Tanking to combine recently acquired picks and their lower (than if they don't tank) own dp's for the 1st overall pick, Bedard.

  3. Caps just playing awful hockey lately, that simple, 1-7 last eight games, the way they gave up the empty net against Ducks is unforgivable.

  4. Ironically, as a casual Bruins fan, a lot of the talk in our arena has been that this was a good trade for us too, and we also have an aging core.

  5. if u ever analyze hockey in depth, ull notice most teams have ~20 year push in which they take up big contracts to compete for the SC, they either win the cup, get to finals, or remain competetive and eventually after that 20year push, they start to offload contracts as their tenure is close to finish the franchise has secured fans for life inc luding the younger generations and now the owners can keep a very cheap low cost roster while making huge profit margins. The USA teams are bit more challenging b/c most still have at least few teams in other sports to compete in sports market, if the teams don't remain competetive they lose market share easily as NHL is the least profitable and money maker of the 4 major sports in North America. The point im trynna make here is that Caps along with many teams from over the past 20 yrs that have had large contracts AND heavy SC push (Ducks, Sharks, Kings, WIngs, Devils, Avs, Pens, Blues, Hawks; all these teams either won a cup or made to finals or had heavy SC push over 20yrs span and at some point the team got dismantled and entered a hard draught, sure its not 100% accurate but following the logic and trace the history can see hwo the trend works in NHL). So all this to say, Caps along with bunch of other teams have started offloading and dismantling preparing for a draught best examples of this Red Wings, Devils, Avs & Hawks

  6. I sure hope so, Ovi can get fucked and I hope they suck till they get rid of Caps, then they can win another cup for all I care.

  7. Who knows. Time will tell what their intentions are. With the amount of injuries and expiring contracts why not trade off some assets this year. They may turn those picks over into trades this year, ie Chychrun

  8. They let their goalies walk to Jersey and the Leafs. That might be one factor.

Now, they are among the best goalies in the league.

  9. Truly shocking is that a supporter of a genocidal war criminal is making 9.5 million in the NHL. I mean, wtf?

  10. I think people are reading too much into the Caps being sellers this year.

They had a lot of expiring contracts entering this season that regardless of the outcome they wouldn't be able to extend. They also had the highest number of man games lost to injury by any team by far. Nicky and Wilson are still working to find their way back and Oshie is basically being held together by Chinese chopsticks and duct tape at this point.

Management clearly understood that too many factors were going against them this year, so instead of fighting the flood, GMBM opted to sell to accumulate assets for his expiring contracts rather than to lose them all for nothing. This will leave them with plenty of cap space to weaponize in the off-season.

  11. The trade makes sense for them. the caps are no longer a top team in the metro they are falling and know they won't be making the playoffs so they're calling it

  12. WE ALL HOPE THE CRAPITALS ARE SCREWED. That's great news. Now maybe Oshie can get in a team that has a little bit of class. That's where he really belongs

  13. You seem to undervalue draft picks in all of your videos. Some teams have made dynastys winning cup after cup and never trading a single draft pick
