  1. Whatch the Leafs also not just got a d man they need but also someone like Tannor Jannot wouldn't shock me

  2. Tampa is already pre tough and now they are a lot tougher…hopefully the leafs can get another bottom 6 guy with grit

  3. If I was a sharks fan, I'd be alright with the return. No high end talent, yes, but a ton of roster filling. Zetterlund is a bottom 6 spark plug of an energy guy who will give you an identical performance at 10 min a night as he will at 20, he seems to never get gassed.
Okhotyuk is currently a tweener, but projects as a reasonable 3rd pair, hard hitting, defensive defensemen.
And Mukhamadulin is probably going to land as a top 4 defensemen, with a slight chance at being a top 2.

So all in all, no big pieces, sure, but filling out the roster with young talent. You need trades like this that put flesh on the bones of a team just like you need the big pieces.

  4. I didn’t like Grier’s first draft and now his first deadline deal is pretty underwhelming.

  5. This should be a lesson for the leafs! Do what it takes! Bye knies bye picks. Bring on a stud!! This is our time!

  6. This is part of a Trade Tree from the Bill Guerin for Jason Arnott trade in the late 90's. You should totally do THAT trade tree this offseason

  7. As a Devils fan, I couldn't be happier. That first round match up against the Rags is looking like an INSANE rivalry series already

  8. Even the Caps have been rumored to be in on Chychrun now with the extra draft picks they have. Still could see some big trades this week

  9. Anyone else think the sharks would have gotten more from the leafs? Feel like the sharks played way too much hard ball and then teams like the leafs went elsewhere.

  10. Steve, as a Sharks fan, I just have one question….. Can you ask Hat Guy what is the correct alcohol to chug over the next couple years?

  11. As a Devils fan, as much as I wanted Timo Meier on the team, I really didn't want to see either Mercer or Nemec moved in order to acquire him.

The fact that we were competing for his services with the Hurricanes, Golden Knights and the late-entry Blues only made the last several weeks even more excruciating.

I love this trade. I'll love it even more if Tom Fitzgerald is able to get Timo's signature on an extension and if we're able to keep Jesper Bratt long-term as well.
