    This entire Retaining Salary aspect of these trades is kind of bogus. Add in the entire LTR/No Salary Cap Hit that the Lightning has been pulling going into playoffs for several years now. The NHL really needs to start adding rules to avoid teams being able to play the salary cap games like these.

    idk Dubas is making great moves. McCabe and Lafferty to me is bigger than O'Reilly bc they will be able to sign these guys. and they are younger

    Regardless of your perspective on Dubas' vision (I largely disagree), you cannot deny that Kyle has given this core EVERY opportunity to succeed.

    Lafferty and McCabe better bump out Engvall and Holl. Sick of em.

    The Leafs will be including the broadloom and the furniture in their next trade because all the Picks are gone. This is the year. They have pushed all the chips in to the middle of the table. Kyle has no contract, and has nothing to lose.

    Leafs fan here the one thing we don’t have yet is a proven fighter to defend the guys in the Playoffs

    The more Kyle Dubas improves this current roster, the more of a letdown when the Lightning bounced the Leafs again in Round 1 of the playoffs.

    The biggest weakness is still the goalie tandem of Samsonov-Murray!

    I like the trade! Too bad they did not unload Engvall! 6’4” 210lbs and he can play with eggs in each pocket and not crack one.

    I can't wait for the leafs to go onto the rebuild, they'll be tanking hard, pulling goalies in the 2nd period etc. All to turn that 7th round pick into a 193rd overall.

    The move that’s going to really put the leafs over the top is the recent hiring of John Tory‘s mistress who got a job by giving a job .

    Chicago by a mile. Bums unloaded. McCabe used to have some grit and be a decent D but he's coming off spinal surgery. Leafs should have stayed away.

    Chicago fan here. Did Toronto win this one? 😅 lol silly question. McCabe was the only player in a hawks jersey registering a positive +/- this season, Lafferty beneficial in pretty much all situations.. four short-handed goals.. both players are really tough and won’t let any team intimidate or bully them.. although the Hawks are tanking for Bedard, these have been two key players in keeping the team respected this year. Congrats Toronto I don’t know what better pieces you could’ve found to increase your chances..

    I HATE this trade just like I hate the O'Reilly trade and the Foligno trade. Sure the trade looks great now. they have added players. But does anybody now think the Foligno trade helped the Leafs. Foligno bolted after 1 round in the playoffs and the 1st round draft pick was gone. So we have NOTHING To show for our first rounder. The same will happen here. Three of these 4 players we have added will likley be gone and our many many draft picks are all gone. We have absolutely nothing in the cupboard. If the Leafs fail to sign Nylander, Matthews and Marner we have a dead franchise with ZERO draft picks until 2026. Thank you Dubas.
