Based on how Vegas people were talking, I think this is a good return
Other than the head-scratching pickup of Kapanen, DA has done pretty good asset management.
Scott Wheeler’s prospect analysis from the Athletic:
> Despite good but uninspiring production and a history of injuries, you won’t find many scouts who are down on Dean because he plays such a likable game. Between his hard work, his constant application of pressure, his always-in-motion movement with or without the puck, the trust he earns, his willingness to attack the interior, the tempo he plays with and sets physically, his details along the wall, and the little plays he makes around the ice in give-and-goes, he plays a pro-style game. Mix in fast hands, a strong neutral-zone game as a carrier, a smooth and flowing stride with good power, advanced athleticism and a muscular build, a decent one-timer, and you’ve got the makings of a driver who can play through contact and make plays. I’m looking forward to watching him when the games get tight in the QMJHL playoffs, because Gatineau has title aspirations and he’s going to have to lead the charge. He projects as your prototypical third-line center.
Good pickup. Essentially a first rounder.
Why did this take so long to announce?
Sounds like we are getting effort guys to try to change the locker room
We really blew up this team…
Everyone getting in a twist on instagram and stuff about these trades. MFs out here pretending these guys aren’t going to test the UFA market with how shaky the Blues are right now. Getting anything out of these expiring contracts are a win.
Don’t know the guy but everything I’m reading sounds promising. Not going to be a superstar but a guy that sounds like he’ll fit in nicely.
And exactly which veteran players are going to mentor these young guys?
So we did get a first round pick for Barbie.

We’re going to be so good…in 2-3 years.
Dobber’s analysis:
> Vegas’s top pick last summer at 30th overall, Dean is a speedy winger with two-way skills. He
> impressed Vegas in development camp and early on in training camp, but then suffered an injury
> that caused him to miss nearly two months of the QMJHL season. He was obviously chomping at
> the bit to return, posting points in each of his first six games, nine in all over that span. Between
> his speed and his tenacity, Dean is an effective forechecker. Combine all that with good hockey
> sense and smart passing, and you have a player with a high likelihood of having a successful
> hockey career. Still to be determined – if his offense can develop to that of a first-liner, or if he
> grows into more of an energy guy on the third line.
How long until we see him in the lineup?

#INJECT THAT SHIT STRAIGHT INTO MY VEINS
Goodbye Barbie. I will party in your honor, but I’ll never root for the Knights!
So we will probably trade Dean and the 2 later round picks to the Yotes
