With Dregers report on Bert last night I hope Steve targets Dallas LA Minnesota Edmonton and Carolina as trade partners. Plenty of prospects and decent picks. I do think trading Bert would be tough in the room but it’s best for the organization going forward and the gives Steve more ammo to acquire elite talent.

Last night sucked. We need to win tonight, and I’d like to see other results fall our way again like they did last week.

  3. KilledByDeath

Detroit needs to step up or they’re going to get stepped on like they did last night. They’ll have a better chance with Husso in net.

  4. bandofgypsies

Unrelated, but the ullmark goal is so sweet. Came way out, pivoted, left the goal wide open with three opponents closing in on him with a one goal lead, and just said straight Fuck it and sent it five hole down the other end. Mad props, got to love a goalie goal.

  5. BigShiv77

Detroit is going to come out and try to play a very physical game to try and match Ottawas energy from last night. Especially with how heated things were getting. I think since the refs didn’t get control of the emotional aspect of the game last night, it’s going to be another extremely chippy game and they are going to over correct and call every single thing. Which with Detroit being the team most pissed off, we will probably once again suffer lol

  6. ufdan15

Tonight is as much of a must win as possible imo

  7. mostdope28

Losing this game drops playoff probability to ~9%, gotta have this one.

  8. DarkKirby14

gotta win this game, which is maybe why we started Hellberg last night

  9. TheNation55

The worst part about this game tonight is if we look like we’re going to win it they’re absolutely going to do something like run Husso or something like that just to spite us.

  10. Miserable_Trash_9027

Going to see a different team in front of Husso tonight.

  11. 1) I hope someone knocks Tkafuck out
    2) OTT wins again if same officials
    3) LGRW!
    4) Fuck the sens for that pitiful gimme of win last night had too many men on ice all night if you ask me….
    And
    5) LGRW… again!

  12. garnold0611

I would be okay with this:

Seider or Chariot go out of their way early in the game to deliver a monster hit on one of the many Ottawa punks. Catch them with their head down looking for a pass or admiring a pass. Knock them to the ice and hover over them for a moment or two like King fucking Kong. Put on your best Rasmussen face and glare at the Ottawa bench as you skate by to get back in position.

Now, this has to be coordinated because you’re putting yourself out of position and don’t want to give up a goal while Kong’ing out. And it has to happen within the first few minutes. Set the tone early.

  13. Enough-Ad-3111

Wait, we just played Ottawa yesterday.

Why do we play them tonight without an off day in between?

  14. jimboknows6916

last nights game and tonights game are where we really miss Ras. I was counting on chiarot and perron being the guys to challenge physicality.

if tkachuk starts stuff again, i hope they shut it down quick.

  15. jarvek7

This is MUST WIN game tonight. It’s a gotta have it game. We’ve got to come out there and bust some balls from the opening faceoff. Dumping Tkachuk on his ass at center ice right off the face off would set s pretty sweet tone for the evening. Just do it!

I think if we don’t pull out a « W » tonight then we become sellers at the TDL. This is the biggest « must win » of all « must wins ». We’ll have played ourselves out of a playoff spot if we drop tonight’s game. Soooooo LGRW– big time.

  16. MoldyMerkin

Playoffs are overrated, let’s just goon it up tonight.

  17. jimmyjoyce28

We get to gritty for 3 more years!!

  18. The wings really weren’t happy about the refereeing last night. I was at the game and after every whistle it seemed like one of Larkin, chiarot, or lalonde was giving it to the one ref.

The ref they seemed to always go to was Cody Beach. I didn’t catch every call, but he seemed to be the one who called most of the penalties against us. He also was absolutely giving it back to our players. Didn’t seem happy. I looked him up this morning and last night was his 17th career game as a ref. Really shitty such an inexperienced ref fucked us last night.

  19. BaptizedInBud

We had an opportunity to take their best player off the ice for 5 mins in the 3rd and nobody stepped up. Sad.

  20. sharkbite247

God damn that was a frustrating game to watch, even when we had the lead. I get that we were getting punished for even looking at the Sens the wrong way, but would have been nice to send a bit of a message when the game was lost.

  21. Danengel32

Let’s gooo Walman. Well deserved extension and also a great deal for the team. 3.5M is a great average, has all the makings of a huge steal. That one main model showed he’s playing/producing like a 9.5M player haha, obviously he wasn’t getting near that and I think that market value part of the model gives the top producing guys a little high of a number. But regardless this could be a humongous steal and in the very worst case scenario, it won’t have an impact. Locked up the perfect partner that Seider has been looking for.

    Thank you Doug Armstrong

  22. lets_kill_time

I’m ready for a war. I don’t care about the results, I wanna see the heart of our guys..

  23. elvishblood_24

Uhhh how did we get Walman for so cheap? I almost feel bad for the guy like he should be getting 4.5/5 and he deserves that.

  24. Ain’t no way Larkin let’s the team come out flat again tonight. Stand up for yourselves tonight or the season is done. Last night was an embarrassment and they know it

  25. duelingdog

It’s good to know that despite all his faults in the game, when it’s time to step up and get physical, Chiarot is still disappointing. Really consistent all around in that way.

  26. Need the Goon squad out tonight. Fuck em

  27. elvishblood_24

Walman was our best player last night

  28. griffs19

Sitting right near the Sens dressing room tunnel tonight. Give me some funny chirps I can say to Tkachuk

  29. griffs19

Are there any big guys we can call up from GR? I feel like a couple fights early on from Chiarot or whoever would settle it down and let us play our game

  30. ts1234666

The Walman extension is an amazing piece of business by Steve. If Walman plays even remotely up to his analytical profile the next few years, this will contract will be a steal and a half.

  31. DontCare010101

People saying we need toughness… we could always trade Bert to the Blues for Robert Bortuzzo and one of their THREE 1st round picks. Maybe send Lindstrom back or something.

He’d slot right in on the 3rd pair and keep Lindstrom and Hagg away, at the very least. And he’d beat the ducks off of anyone.

At only $950k for the next two years, what’s not to like? They’d only have to change two letters on Bertuzzi’s nameplate as well.

  32. Salamangra

Last night left a bad taste in my mouth, and it wasn’t the refs or getting pummeled by Ottawa. It was the fact that this team does not stick up for each other. You think Probert or McCarty would have let them run Walman, or try and punk Seider? You think Probert would have let Tkachuk challenge our entire bench? Probert would have jumped over the boards and beat the shit out of him.

We play like a bunch of scared pussies when the rubber meets the road. We need to get tougher and meaner if we’re going to have any hope of competing in this league.

Edit: and the one physical presence we did have on the team, Ben Chiarot, did jack shit out there. In fact I’ve seen plenty of Benny boy. Ship his ass off with some picks to AZ. The guy is fucking useless. If he’s not physical, he ain’t doing *a damn thing*

Edit 2: I miss Scotty Bowman.

  33. dandiogenes

Stevie’s been patient in terms of trades but do you think he starts firing them off if we lose this game tonight?

  34. downered

I just hope everyone has fun tonight.
