Im guessing more likely this is a Brock Boeser deal, and they’re trying to get a Chicago/Arizona to eat some salary so Van doesn’t retain.

I’ve watched a few pens games lately and Jeff Carter is really showing his age. Partly also due to being played a bit much. I could see them really liking Miller’s versatility as a 3C or top six winger and moving carter to us. Not sure of cap implications but just a knee jerk thought

I’m hoping it’s a Boeser trade. I really like Miller but I wouldn’t be opposed to trading him if the return is really good and I know a lot of people would be happy with getting out before his contract kicks in. Garland is hopefully getting kept considering he is playing extremely well under Tocchet and we should be waiting to see how all the new contracts perform next year.
Ah I love trade deadline time. One source says the Canucks are basically done. One source says there’s still lots to come.

Sizeable deal doesn’t mean sizeable contract, every team has cap management/brokering going on but a vague tweet like this gets the juices flowing for a Miller move doesn’t it! Earlier in the year I was predicting Boeser to Penguins and now there are rumours of Miller to the Pens out there, on top of Demko to Pens rumours…

1- Kane is traded to NYR and Canucks retain max %.
2- simultaneously, boeser is traded to Pittsburg/wherever. Chicago retains a smaller % on boeser/miller in exchange for the Canucks retaining on Kane.
