@Islanders de New York

Il y a 4 ans aujourd’hui : le retour de Tavares à Long Island

[Highlights](https://youtu.be/sXdIouyDkaA)

The energy in the Coli was incredible. Didn’t Toronto institute a « John Tavares Appreciation Day » as a result of this game?

One of the best regular season games I’ve ever been to. It more than lived up to the hype that was building. Such a fun and unifying game.

Islander fan since I was young, was the first game I ever got to attend when some friends brought me. What an amazing first game, but also ruined every other game for me after lol.

“That’s our capt” still gives me chills

Such an amazing atmosphere and so much pearl clutching afterwards around the league.

This atmosphere should be standard in American sports. That was euro soccer levels of crowd atmosphere against a hated opponent.

  6. I was at Game 6 in 2021. This was still another level. It was like the world of wrestling and hockey combined into one. Just pure joy and catharsis the entire time letting John know he fuckt up.

  7. 4 years ago??? Feels like it was so recent

One of best sporting events I’ve been too, he deserved it

I was at the Barn for the very first game the Islanders played there and was there for the last game they played there; this game, by far, blew both of them away. Loved the, « we don’t need you » chant!

hands down the most fun I’ve ever had at a game. The isles return to the coliseum, first playoff game after the return, and then the Beau OT game are the only ones even close to this

  11. This game was awesome. Some of the stuff fans have done (specifically Dear John video) have been cringy, but this night was electric.

Toronto crying about it made it much better. It was good they weren’t good sports about it, as that would’ve stopped it from being iconic.

I don’t hate the guy like most fans here do. But God damn. That was one of the most fun, insane atmospheres I’ve seen at a hockey game, especially during the regular season, it was unreal.

I wish they were still at the Coliseum. Is UBS as loud?

Man Lehner was truly outstanding that year.

Best game I’ve been to by far. The energy in that building was insane

Easiest money I ever made was betting on the Isles this game. I had a strong feeling the boys were going to bring it.

Absolute best game I’ve ever been to. I still go back and watch the highlights

I was there and have been going to Islander games for over 40 years….This includes Bossy scoring 50/50, « The Comeback », « Double Chili » game and many, many others and I can tell you this was the absolutely craziest fucking game I ever saw with regards to the fans and the hype. Maybe, Nystrom winning it in 1980 or the Penalty Shot goal against Toronto comes close but I doubt it.

I hemmed and hawed about going to that game and decided to go. Glad I did. Craziest game I’ve ever witnessed.
