  1. Only Connor McDavid can commit 2 different blatant penalties on a net drive, not get called for either, and then make Hat Picks. Truly one of a kind.

  2. How is the sabres shorthanded OT defenseman goal by the GUMMY BEAR for his first goal of the season for the first time in almost 100 years not mentioned?

  3. While I love seeing a goalie goal, it just had to be Boston against Vancouver

  4. You missed Brock Nelson's goal from Winnipeg. It's an absolute BEAUTY. Idk about you, but to us here on LI, that is a Hat Pick!

  5. The NHL Eastern Conference is now the NFL AFC. Conference is LOADED but only one team can make it to the finals. Avs vs XXX??

  6. Thank you Steve, please tell me that Rantenen's goal at 14 seconds against the Knights will be on Friday? I thought it could go either way; a Dang It's or a Hat Pick

  7. Connor and Leon had 3 points each in that game against Philadelphia.
What makes the Minnesota comeback against Columbus more glorious is that the Wild just took Gustav Nyquist out of the Blue Jackets' hands. For a 5th round pick.
Ullmark's goalie goal means that Boston has now been on both sides of the goalie goal (they allowed one to Ron Hextall in a game in 1987).
May have been a good save by Shes, but that has to be a one-timer. If TVR one-timed that, it would have been a goal.

  8. OMG McJesus is gonna look good in Ranger blue in 4 years!

  9. You lead with McDavid when a goalie scores like that? Definite anti bruins bias here lol! McDavid scores all the time-we already knew he was going to get there.

Goalies don't score nearly as often as Connor McDavid! And that would have been the surprise of the game.

Okay-we'll talk McDavid since we're going to diss Ullmark yet again. It's okay! Bruins fans did it to him last season. It'll only make that chip on his shoulder bigger. Worked for cheever's and Thomas!

Connor McDavid was given a gift- if he could not reach his 800th point playing a collegiate USA trained 24 year old 6'2" second string goalie, doesn't play European or Canadian hockey, then I'd assumed he was having gastrointestinal issues or playing with a broken leg.

Getting 2 pucks past Jeremy swayman was not a challenge.

Connor would've had 4+ goals, but Orlov & Lindholme knew how to play him.

To be fair folks, GAA went up a decade ago, everyone except for goalies and goalie coaches thought players got better.
    Nope haha!

comparing the likes of Connor McDavid to players before the goalie gear changes, is not equal.
    No disrespect to mr. McDavid

But the GAA flying up in front of people's faces, attributing that to better scorers? Just another media clickbait optical illusion

goalie pads got a half-inch thinner, trappers & blockers shrunk. No more double padded pants. They also banned all white goalie jerseys, no more ghost goalies

Financially, it killed a lot of young goalies. Hockey arenas were filling dumpsters with gear, especially goalie pads-kids couldn't sell older gear to size up or go up a level anymore.
Hockey families couldn't keep up. And there was no used gear for years! Of course prices went up as demand went up!

Our local ice arena helped us get gear at their cost, cuz they needed goalies for Stick & Puck and their adult leagues. They had to keep goalies coming in or they wouldn't get adult leagues & skaters! They've closed their doors

NHL didn't tell fans-they did it intentionally because there we're too many evenly-matched teams, low-scoring games. They'd already banned the gory bloody fighting-
    They were losing viewership.

    It's funny how nobody noticed

Connor McDavid is great, just don't compare him to players going against larger trappers, blockers & pads

Linus getting that goal, in that way, was far more remarkable than Connor McDavid getting another goal, hitting some record. 🥱

  10. Yeah I thought that puck might kick back, but Bergeron saw what was going on and jumped into the net.
    We're a TEAM.
When you watch the bruins, you need to watch the same play three times and look at three different areas of the ice to catch these boys in action

You'd best do it in slow motion

  11. But did y'all catch how CLOSE the Philly goalie (not sure which one was in net) came to saving that Draisaitl shot? That would've been a Hat Pick for sure.

  12. So who got the puck when McDavid hit 800 and Dri hit 700. Also can that Malgin goal also be a dang it against Zadorov. That was some lazy ass defense and he deserves to be thrown under the bus for that. Also I heard once that Vasilevskiy had surgery to change his muscle/tendon structure so that he could be more flexible. Haven't had a chance to double check that yet, but might be worth a look

  13. Mikko 14 seconds in against VGK? Mikko hitting 40 faster than any other avalanche player in history!? I'm disappointed in you.

  14. Steve, the Pens absolutely thrash the Tampa Bay Lightning 7-3 and absolutely no mention on today's plays of the week? I thought Malkin's goal would have made it, BUT NOOOOOOO! Please do better bro and show some love for a team showing tremendous guts and battling back after Kapenen was waived!

  15. I know you don't do them, but I was at the ECHL South Carolina stingrays game against the Atlanta gladiators gladiators goalie went behind the neck stingray scored all I can hear in my head "if you're a goaltender tend the goal!!!"

  16. You missed a Hat pick save from Stuart Skinner in the last 5mins of the game against Boston he makes an amazing glove save while Boston was on the power play to end the game.
