Damn, losing Pulju and Barrie in one day ;(

moves make sense but they also make me sad

  2. stonkszz

Hate to see him go, he’s having a good season. He also seems like a really good dude in general. He’ll be missed.

  3. HomerFerns

Man that goal against LA in Game 6 was so fucking huge.

    Thanks Tyson. All the Best!

God I absolutely love Barrie but this team can’t afford a Dman who isn’t good at d for 4.5mil. Thankfully I’m a Preds fan and still get to cheer for him

  5. GeorgeGammyCostanza

All the best in Smashville Tyson. We will miss you. Once an Oiler, always an Oiler.

  6. SRTGreat

His goal in game 6 vs LA will never be forgotten.

That goal gave this team life. Without that we wouldn’t have stomped Calgary’s heads in.

I’ll miss him. Seemed like a great dude. But it’s a business.

    All the best 🫐

I’m curious to see if our league best PP was inflating his numbers a bit. He’s definitely good offensively but it’s his best season in a long time

  8. Aarondirtysanchez

Tough to see him go and he’s a team guy but this team needs actual defensive guys. He’s too much money at 4.5.

  9. Repostasis

Nashville is such a fun city. Happy for him that he ended up there and not Phoenix. Wish there was a way we could have kept him, but that’s where the chips fell.

  10. extralargehats

Big fan of Tyson but we had two offensive RD

  11. Nowiwantmydmg

100%. He played great. And he’s only in Nashville’s rebuild for 1 year (they’ll trade him next deadline when he’s approaching UFA).

  12. djschultz9

He played exactly of what we wanted out of him. Seemed like a great guy too. Tough to see him go but our team is better now with Ekholm on the roster

  13. Hate to see him go, I’m sure him and the boys are upset too. Tough, all the best to him and happy he was an Oiler

  14. potato_soup303

May I ask why is everyone stoke about that trade? I personally thought Barrie was better than Ekholm. So giving a first for him too and having more money on the cap feels a bit weird.I might be dead wrong here tho and I’ll be glad to be proven wrong.

I love you Tyson, gonna miss you.

  16. Tyson the type of dude to still get invited to the team trips

  17. Kawhibunga

It really sucks to lose such a great dude from the team and locker room. Hopefully works out well for both sides though.

Go light it up in Smashville Tyson, and thanks for all you did for the Oilers in your relatively short time here!

  18. bussted123

Really gunna miss this guy! Best of luck Tyson!

  19. Mysteri0n

I feel like Nashville is gonna trade him for even more assets, no?

  20. Skanvar

I’m pretty gutted. He was our best RHD this season and seemed like a great character guy in the locker room. I think the PP will suffer since he is such a wizard at getting pucks on net, small feints one way and then passing another way, holding the line and keeping pucks in/plays alive. I hope I’m wrong but « anyone could be on a PP with McDrai » is going to look like a really bad take quickly that I’ve seen a lot of today. The pressure is on Bouch now to fill a top 4 role unless another deal is in the works. I’m going to do my best not to get too pissy when he falters and I hope the rest of you do the same.

    You’ll be missed T-Boobs

  21. hmturboman

Hey extra who’s the second offensive D you speak of?

  22. RedKryptnyt

Ugh. Wish I didn’t see this. We waited YEARS for this guy to join the Oilers. Now he’s gone. I’m still on the fence on this swap.

  23. bwarbwar

I just don’t understand this trade. Barrie has probably been our best dman this season and was a key piece in our PP.

Ekholm should be an instant top pair guy for us and much better defensively, but honestly I was thinking he’d be the perfect guy to pair with Barrie.

  24. RedKryptnyt

I can’t remember the last time I was actually disappointed to see an oiler traded. It’s been YEARS. Bummer feeling.

  25. AlleyBj

Pretty thin on the right side now (although I know Ekholm can play both). I wonder if Kenny is cooking another deal for a defenceman.

  26. Canadiantx69

As much as I hated his defensive play when he first got here, man had he put in the work to shore it up to where I wasn’t instantly looking away when someone challenged his lane. I’m excited for the guy he’s leaving for us to bring in, but I’m definitely sad to see him go. Hope he kills it in Nashville and ruins some other teams seasons for us with them.

  27. goldenbear2

    Will miss Barrie’s clutch moments.

    Hope the oilers aren’t done.
