I don’t know who Lassi Alanen is, but I agree with everything he does and think his model is fantastic.
I have no idea how a new player progresses before the NHL. Is Lane a next year deal or a year after deal?
I hope he makes it. He is pretty fun to watch.
I hope we don’t look back and see his defensive numbers in college as an early sign of trouble.
Offense aside, which I think we like to focus on, his defense seems to be somewhat pedestrian. Maybe he rounds out his defensive game next year?

I mean, I’m sure someone has answered this before, but here goes:
If the worst-case does happen and his defense turns out to be real hot garbage, what do people think his potential would be as a forward? His size is much less of a concern for F, and I would assume that a lot of the playmaking and transition skill would translate to center.
Fans love offensive defencemen. Coaches and goalies love defensive defencemen.
