I get the feeling with how wild this deadline season has been already that we’re either going to get a surprise Yzerman fleece (in the vein of the Mantha trade), or we’re going to be shockingly quiet, with not much in-between
I’m surprised Toronto dealt Sandin to bring in Schenn and Gustafson, I figured he was their blueliner of the future.
Edmonton trading Barrie is surprising but I guess they desperately need a defensive defensemen
I love how every year since the cap became a thing the reporters and fan bases whip themselves up into a frenzy thinking it’ll stop teams from loading up.
I hope we’re a “broker” team and trade Bert and maybe Vrana. Stevie does his best work making trades, so I’m all for him having as many opportunities to make moves as possible.

Is it just me, or has this trade deadline been unusually busy? I’m like shocked. Also, the east is getting insanely stacked. I thought last year was the peak with some big trades coming to the Atlantic.
I understand it’s probably best if we stand pat or even sell a little but it sucks seeing all these teams get better and we can’t really do much.
I wonder if more west teams become sellers last-minute.

I know it’s a locker room confidence booster when you see that the GM is committed to this team and has confidence in playoff aspirations. But, with the east being this stacked there’s just no way we can compete with these teams if we’re getting dominated by Ottawa.
