This is exactly what I meant when I said that the key to making the playoffs was guys like Mittelstadt.

    He also adds:

“Another note about this recent stretch that has Buffalo one point behind Pittsburgh for the second wild-card spot:

At 5-on-5, Henri Jokiharju leads the Sabres in CF% (58.69), xGF% (55.99) and defensive-zone starts (19) over the past six games.”

The problem that Mitts has is that he does a lot of the little things well, but when he makes a mistake its a very glaring one and has often (at least year) led to a goal for the other team.

The turnover he made on a blind drop pass that Tampa I think it was scored on is a great example.

Where are all the Mitts haters now???? Been saying he has potential since day 1

Would make for 6 players hitting 50+ points

Moving him onto Krebs wing, and a bit of Cozens wing too, has done wonders for his game.

Now if he could stop throwing no look passes cross-ice in the neutral zone that would be great.

Honestly Mitts can play on my team. I think players with below NHL average foot speed take longer to develop (Reinhart is an example) and I think Mitts is figuring out how to be successful with his board play and positioning. He may never live up to the hype post world juniors MVP or necessarily be a line driver but he provides secondary offense and I think he’ll learn to limit the mistakes he makes.
