How do YOU like having a losing streak in SJ? Huh SJ?! HUH?!

  2. NinjaGoalie97

Unfortunate win for the tank. However, great games from Allen, Guhle and Anderson. Thought Gurianov had a solid debut for the team too

  3. BlossomKireina

Kudos to Allen, as well as Savard diving to save that puck.

  4. vince2899

I swear to god we’re again going for 10 years of mediocrity it’s frustrating seeing that team.

  5. ghg1999

I get complaining about the team not tanking enough is lame, but this just feels like a massive oppurtunity lost.

We gotta fucking NAIL our draft selections because i doubt were getting one of the franchise guys at this point

  6. --JULLZ--

Guri good game. Guhle is so back. Suzuki needs to shoot. Anderson big boy.

Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

  7. Nema003

Starsbro is signing off for the night. Got a Poli-Sci midterm at 8:00 AM.

You guys are fucking Beauties. Glad y’all got to see what Gurianov can do, and I’ll see y’all on Thursday!

    Allez Canadiens!

  8. Wornbutthole

I really liked what I saw with Gurianov, interested to see him more, also a good return for Ghule, Anderson had, as with his last couple games, been really good.
    Good game!

  9. ObverseNebula

Everyone is so negative, holy crap lmao

  10. Eniotnacram95

If they refuse to tank, might as well win as much as possible and build a winning culture even more.

They’re 8 points behind Ottawa and Nashville, so at worst they’ll have the 9th pick. Right now, they’re 8th, so not much of a difference.

  11. mountainpope

A few more useless wins and we’ll be out of the top 10

At least Jake Allen is having fun, that’s what’s important

  12. reidk_97

Once they broke the seal they never looked back. Two bottom teams going at it. I’m excited to see gurianov get more chances with Suzuki!

  13. noskatesnodates

What a comeback win! Def worth being exhausted tomorrow. Bonne nuit my Habs family

  14. SAM041287

Allen has almost a shutout, Guhle is back with a goal, and Guri is fast

    Bonus point for the Suz

  15. Quasihodor

Boy oh boy, I can’t wait to pick our 9th overall draft pick

Hope all you anti-tankers are enjoying these wins and enjoy watching Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Carlsson absolutely tear it up on different teams lol

Couldn’t find a way to change my flair to say « 46 POINTS » because that’s where we should be at right now. For an update to those following tankathon, CBJ are at 46 points as last in the league. After the All-Star break we were sitting at 44 points. We had a 3 game win streak pushing us from 44 points to 50 points vs. NYI,EDM,CHI. Arguably the chicago game could have been locked as a win so say we should be sitting at 46 points after that 3 game stretch, should NYI and EDM not have choked completely. We followed that up with 2 more wins later on vs NJD and PHI which again should not have been wins, netting us a total of 54 points. Now with this win, which really could have been a win for SJS as the game went on, but before it started it could be argued we could have won, we are now sitting at 56 points, ahead of PHI and behind STL.

Obviously, players don’t tank and I love seeing them win and develop better. But IDK what management should be doing here, we should be going for Bedard as much as we can. Other teams are doing their best by sitting out and trading players away to get lower. Somehow we are racking up wins lmao.

I’ve said it ad nauseam, but goddamn it, we should be below 50 points, gunning for bottom 3 at least 5 for good odds and picks. Major loss for the tank and sad about us not getting a good draft in what is one of the decades biggest drafts.

    Should be at 46 man….

Tank-chasing has corrupted my brain but goddamn if it isn’t the right thing to be doing at the very least this year

  17. Don’t care how bad the Sharks are, that’s a great character win bay-beeee. Take those all day.

That’s also TWO straight wins in San Jose! Making up for that 20 year winless streak.

  18. ForumsGhost

You’re doing yourself a disservice thinking about picking top 2

  19. parlefrenglish

Anderson, we love you. Guhle, thanks for bringing us back in the game. Allen, we may be hard on you, but you had amazing saves. Great game!

  20. KoreanPhones

That’s it this is the TIPPING POINT FOR ME. I just know for a FACT, five years from now I’m gonna think back to this year and shake my head at what could have been.

Call me a fake fan, whatever. I want to win the fucking Stanley Cup. What better way to do that by drafting high in a generational draft? Guess it’s back to mediocrity.

Dont reply with the « we might hit on a guy outside the top 5 that can be a star » or « LoOk aT EdMoNton » or « mAkaR waS tAkeN 4th ». All that shit requires luck, when do the Habs have « luck » with drafting. And to the Edmonton part, they would be a fucking basement team without McDavid and Drai so I’d say the draft is pretty crucial and worked out well for them.

For once in my life I want to have a player on my team that’s a PPG lock every year. But nah let’s win some games in late February that will be forgotten in a few weeks. The joy of having Bedard/Fantilli would last over a decade but nah fuck that let’s just win some meaningless games instead, why not right? Fuck a draft who needs em anyway, not like it’s how every team builds a cup contending team anyway.

  21. Chaos_Quebecois

Jesus y’all need to calm down, let’s break down their remaining schedule
    Boston – twice
    Carolina – twice
    Lightning – twice
    Florida – twice
And all these teams once – Detroit, New Jersey, LAK, Vegas, Colorado, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Washington, Toronto, Islanders.
All of those teams are either in the playoffs, or within 5 points of a playoff spot at this moment.
Our last 3 games are against Philly, Columbus, and Anaheim.
So realistically how many points do you think we get with this schedule? 10 maybe 12? Putting us at 66 points. Which was good for 6th overall last season.
Chill and enjoy the win yall.

  22. ItzEnoz

Please for the love of god trade Allen, Anderson and Matheson why are these 2 still on our roster?

Washington is selling and Nashville is selling

Why is this management group so scared to sell pieces who won’t be part of the future

This roster and our prospect pool desperately needs elite talent and if they don’t sell we won’t get it from the draft end of story

  23. This win alone might be worth a 1 spot difference in drafting. Terrible

  24. DburgH4L

I don’t know why but everything we get worse on paper we get better on the ice it is weird and kinda frustrating at the same time. I want to see this team succeed when we have all our core players playing but we are giving the ahl guys all the morale boost and our nhlers are sitting out watching this happen

  25. LightsaberCrayon

Fun game, love to see Guhle hitting the ground running. In other news, all you unironic tanking obsessed crabapples are going on ignore now. Bye, losers!

  26. campbell_love

It’s kind of funny that for 20 years we couldn’t buy a win in San Jose and now that we’re terrible we’ve won two years in a row

  27. dadoudelidou

Hahah i cannot beleive it, like how many tankers stayed up that late just to watch their team win and than to procede act like an old man yelling at clouds about draft picks…

    FUCK.THE.TANKING. MENTALITY.
You kill the vibe on a win.

I’m not staying up this late to be mad that our young guys like Ghule, Suzuki, Guri, RHP and Ylonen had a good night and showed competitivity. Half the team has less than 25 yo and shows progression. This is so much morr important.

One last time. FUCK. THE. TANKING. MENTALITY.

Edit: Thanks to the Mods to stay late and clean up the comment section. Tonight is one of the worst PGT i’ve seen in a lomg time.

    We are the Montreal Canadiens.
We wear our Jerseys with Pride.

  28. DburgH4L

Could we trade Allen for some good assets?

  29. lyme6483

We were never catching the hawks or bluejackets. Seriously look at their rosters. I’m a Hawks fan as well, and I think that is probably the least talented team in the NHL the last 10-15 years.

  30. timalmyers1991

great win, I love to see the youngsters getting it done for us here. Tank Nation be patient, our March schedule is brutal

  31. Ross_Rhea

First time I skip going to this game in 21 years. Looks like Habs played well. Two decimated teams playing each other.

  32. tehsdragon

Welcome back Guhle, and damn, what a pass to him by Bonino lmao

  33. dis_gruntled_veteran

(Me just arriving and walking down the mangled thread of downvotes and deleted comments)

    Um… What…what happened here??

  34. franksobotka89

Matheson is awesome. Saved Allen twice!
