   If Crouse gets moved, I’m over it. This man has said repeatedly that he wants to be in AZ. Why do we keep moving these players for picks and cap dumps. What’s the end game here? Accumulate a shit ton of draft picks year after year in hopes that 10% pan out? I’ve never been so apathetic about this team before

   This is getting a bit ridiculous. I get we’re going to be playing a bunch of guys on their ELC’s next year so we need cap somewhere, but come on it’s a bit much now. Media hype is what it is but if they actually trade crouse they’re going to lose the fanbase, there’s a line you just can’t cross

   I’m all aboard the « absorb dead cap in return for picks »…that’s how we got Chychrun in the first place (taking on Datsyuk’s contract from the Red Wings in exchange for their 1st rd pick).

   But I just am having a tough time wrapping my mind around why the club was SO INSISTENT on not retaining anything on Chychrun’s contract? It seems like that cost the team a huge amount of value, and I’m failing to see what the value was for the org in not retaining any cap hit if we’re just going to go out and do shit like trading for dead contracts the next day?

   I wonder if all of this cost cutting has something to do with the fact that if the arena deal passes Meruelo has to immediately transfer $40m to Tempe. Cut your costs somewhere so you can afford to make that payment.
