  1. I thought for sure steve was going to trade for Colton Paraynko after Hronek went to VAN

  2. Wings better use some of these picks for guys who won’t get run outta the rink. Performance in Ottawa was pathetic.

  3. Strange that the 1st is protected. I guess it would be a lottery pick which is unlikely since it is the Bruins…so for a late 1st round next year. That is about all you can expect TBH

  4. Not a fan of Bert going to Boston. After the Wings lost the semi finals in 2013 we moved to the Atlantic Division and besides Datsyuk's 1 goal we got swept by Boston. This was the death knell of the dynasty. The wings went on to lose in the 1st round against the lighting the next 2 seasons and haven't see the playoffs since. Giving Bert to Boston is a perfect way to say we're good with Boston continuing to dominate.

  5. Why not trade Zadina…..he's done even fucking less than Bertuzzi…. and Bert still put up a decent amount of points despite missing games were as other guys may as well have missed games….

  6. When is the "rebuilding" ever going to end? I'm really sick of this generation of the "Dead Things". I suffered enough during the original Dead Things run.

  7. Hate to see Bert gone, but I don’t think we were resigning him anyway. I’m good with both of these trades.

  8. I love Bert. But he has been frustratingly good over the last few years. Talented with grit and goes to the corner. The Wings are not the dregs of the NHL anymore and lots of young talent. Even if the Wings signed Bert he was likely not going to be a factor when the Wings become what they are growing into. I wish him luck, he didn't do anything to dislike him for.

  9. How do you think the Bert trade was compared to Hronek trade? I would have thought the return for Bert would have been what we got for Hronek and vice versa.

  10. Stevie has enough capital to make a huge trade in the off-season for a BIG name

  11. I wonder if the return was a little bit less than it could have been. Boston will be a magnificent team for at least another couple of years, so this 1st will likely be a late pick, and we saw a guy like Jeannot (read: Bertuzzi with less offensive capabilities) get a pick in each of the first 5 rounds as his return.

  12. I see some fans talking about how this trade will hurt us we are going to miss his "grit"? For what? So we can pick in the middle of the draft? You're just letting your emotions overcloud your judgement. Wouldn't it make more sense to sell off and hope that with 20 games left we can tank enough that we can score a top 4 pick(the #1C we need)? MAYBE EVEN BEDARD HIMSELF? We have enough average-above average players, we are missing ELITE. That is the dream scenario here. Not fighting for a Wildcard while watching our red faces get smashed up and down the ice by the freaking Ottawa Senators of all teams. Also, if we have draft luck we can retool in the offseason and if Bert really want to be here theres still a possibly we can resign him. Sell of, pray to win this draft lottery and we are in business.
