Sweet. The guy in charge of the team is learning the entire sport from someone who hasn’t played in half a century. Man do I love being a fan of the team that’s hard to play against.

Jesus Christ, will all these former Flyers just go away already. I hate the fact that if you play for the Flyers you’re just given a position of power in the organization

This team will never adapt a modern mentality
Snips_Tano
I mean, the Broad Street Bullies have been in charge of this team for decades, obviously. It’s why this team can’t ever adapt to actual modern hockey.
No wonder we keep signing « tough to play against » guys.

This team will get the number one pick and they won’t pick Bedard. I’m calling it now. He’s too short.

We are here until the 70s players literally die. It’s the only way the “bullies” can ever end
We have our own non criminal version of Harold Ballard.
PanjoKazooie
So Homer and Clarke do have a lot of sway and it’s still worse than we thought lol

It’s crazy they can’t get away from those guys. Not a single one should be involved in decision making let them hang around the building give them free beer whatever but enough already. They’re destroying the franchise.

Hextall tried getting rid of them but they rebelled and cried to Scott.

I was at the game last night and had dinner at Adrian around 6pm and can 100% confirm this.
Dave Scott & Bill Barber walked right through the restaurant together. Locked eyes with Dave Scott and he looked incredibly uncomfortable.
Thought it was really weird he was walking around though given all that’s going on and the anger/disappointment fans have with him.

How sad is it that the owner of the team anointed a guy to run the Flyers, who had absolutely no pre-existing interest in nor qualifications for running a NHL organization.
Barber, Lombardi, Holmgren, Clarke. All of them are out-of-touch morons, but the fact that they get to insert Fletcher and his failing management team of Flahr and Briere, as their minions, and then whisper into Comcast’s empty suit’s ear, that everything is fine, no, we don’t rebuild in Philadelphia, we’ve just had bad injury luck, what we’re missing is culture and not skill, and don’t worry because draft picks are overrated….
Such a completely broken and sad ownership and management group.

I’m sorry, I know it’s « against the grain » but I just don’t buy all this talk that it’s old Flyers that are the problem.
The team went against the grain hiring Hextall in what his philosophy was. He was nothing like Clarke and Holmgren and that was very well reflected in the decisions he made.
Then they brought in Fletcher, who was also a complete 180 from Hextall and the previous guys, but had a long track record of sucking.
That’s it. I refuse to believe that there are old Flyers in some conspiracy running the team. It’s ridiculous.
Holmgren built this team into a contender in today’s NHL. His last shitty decision died when Bryzgalov was bought out.
The reality of it is the Flyers no longer have an owner invested in the success of the team, only printing money. That’s why Dave Scott is still there and that’s why Chuck Fletcher is still there.

These dinosaurs need to fuck off.

They all need to retire. None of them know anything about modern day hockey.
itsthefazz
It’s actually sickening.

I agree a little bit when Anthony talked about Barber, Homer and Clarke. There are almost no repercussions for the three of them to give bad advice because they’ll never be asked to leave the organization. Dave Scott is too fucking stupid to realize that he’s being fed bullshit by three people who have no fear of losing their job and won’t be held accountable.
