Pretty underwhelming return. Not a single prospect?

I heard his family has a camp in Ottawa. Makes you wonder how much input the player had ( should be no none)

  3. gorefloor

Was excited to see he was finally traded only to be bummed right away to see the return.

I don’t even know what the fuck to feel.

Ehh… what? That’s it after all that

I can’t say I’m happy with how much we gave up talent wise without getting what feels like anything comparable in return, but if GMBA is committed to a full rebuild, securing early round picks for as far into the future as possible seems like a solid plan.

Besides, if Chych didn’t want to be here, it really doesn’t matter how well he might have fit into the rebuild plans.

This is legitimately probably one of the worst trades this franchise has made since moving to Phoenix…. holy fuck

Frustrated with the return. Picks are fine but a top prospect to watch highlights and talk about would have been cool.

I guess the only real positive I can see in this deal is that it doesn’t look like we retain any salary.

This is telling. The team is broke. Flat broke. We’re in fukn trouble ladies and gents

I guess I don’t see this as a horrible trade, just meh.

are we all underwhelmed because the coyotes made it sound like they wouldn’t settle for less than 2 firsts and a prospect?

Worried about our D-pipeline. We desperately need a solid RHD prospect. I don’t trust Soda’s development, but with Hayton taking strides recently, it gives me hope.

The 1st will be a pretty good pick. In a vacuum, this isn’t a bad deal. What makes this look lousy is that the ask for 18 months has been significantly higher to the point where it seemed crazy. Hard to believe that this really was the *best* offer they’ve gotten. Got greedy and stubborn and that pushed them into a corner and they got caught.

Seeing some of those dog shit takes on r/hockey makes me wanna gouge my eyes out. Some basic research by these people would go a long way.

Reality is that the D market had cheaper options for a lot of people. Plus team control was a huge factor. If they didn’t have the long term space or only wanted rentals, they weren’t biting.

It was an okay trade but given what was moving around this week, this was probably the best return they could get at the moment and GMBA was likely tired of all the low bids. If that was the best he got from a fringe playoff team and no one else was knocking, why wait for more empty returns?

Chych’s value would only go down. Also he was hurt this year to start and hadn’t been completely back into best form.

All-in-all, this was arguably always going to be the best result in terms of draft/prospect capital.
