Definitely need to appreciate the name on the back of the jersey, but ultimately it's all about the team logo on the front.
The fact that "explanation" needs to happen, proves that fact that they made an unsavory decision.

This must be just too hard for Kopi and Drew loosing a great friend. Hate to see Quick in Vegas jersey.
There are so many facets to this. Has Quickies game deteriorated, yes, but this team has done him no favors this year. He wasn't going to be in an LA jersey next year, I'm almost 100% certain of that. No one will ever replace what he has done for this team, at least in my lifetime. The core of Brown, Kopi, Drew, and Quick have given LA something that no team before has be able to do….twice. All 4 will be in the rafters, and statues together outside Crypto. Blake did what he felt makes this team better for a playoff run, none of us sit in his seat, none of us get to question his decision making. Emotionally, this sucks, and initially I was pissed at Blake, maybe still am a little, but the team needs to move forward and do their best to win. GKG
If only he had taken that Patrick Kane route and hold the team hostage by telling them which team he wanted to be traded to. BTW I never knew Todd M was such a good tap dancer, I think he's got a future in politics.

as a fan since I was 10 years old 1st game 1972, I have seen it all I'm a kings freak crazy fan & feel everything in my heart, I really am sad deeply sorry I think it was a mistake he's THE REASON WE WON IN 2012 (period.) & QUITE POSSIBLY 2014. Now after watching both vlad & joonas in over 1 hour in vid clip & see the TOI for Vlad, the accomplishment Joonas has mustered in a truly destroyed back end in Columbus, & his strong net covering style, i'm already seeing this as the big 2 man addition that got us through to playoff sc 2012, & sc 14 thats how big this 'could' be ..however! If we face Q in CF he will ruin us, & maybe that's poetic justice, then onto next year & the SC!
It's a matter of wanting to win or wanting to live in the past and be nostalgia merchants… Pretty easy decision

This team was never built from the back end out. Black and McLellan have only focused on the offense and really never tried to address the issues in this system. All three goalies this year have struggled. Thanks ownership for letting them rip out an franchise icon, no franchise legend. For what a first or second round exit? Time will tell.
