Lol! Loose spit is more dangerous than lining up a players head from half way across the ice

  2. NSNSprite

Much like the whole ordeal we had with the caps a few years back, I’m not really surprised. Just disappointed.

  3. NYR_or_Far

Miller got three games for accidentally spitting on Doughty

Watson likely concussed Motte with an elbow to the face against the boards and gets no suspension

    Ain’t that a bitch?

  4. mikaBananajad

Is anyone else seeing this MST3K group photo? I’m for it just curious

  5. TwinkiesForAmerica

absolutely insane, what a poverty league office

hitting a vulnerable player w/o the puck by drilling his head into the glass is an « unavoidable hit and contact »

    pathetic

  6. ImNoSir

Get fucked parros. I truly hate that scumbag. Spitting, 3 games, targeting and leaving your feet leading to a head injury, nothing. Absolute joke of player safety.

  7. Tommybrady20

It’s almost as if George Parros has an inherent bias towards good for nothing greaseballs like Austin Watson… because that’s exactly the type of player he was, himself.

  8. overgrownpizzabox

wife beater nearly decapitates former teammate but god forbid a piece of saliva lands on someone’s visor

  9. jerejeje

Now seems about the time for James Dolan to release another smartass letter after Miller was suspended and Watson wasn’t.

  10. Pork-Roll

Watson is as useless as Parros was

  11. BeesVBeads

Daily reminder that DoPS is a joke.

  12. thedave1022

Motte didn’t even have the puck nor touch it during that sequence. How is leaving skates, elbow to head, plus not being involved in the play not get a suspension?

  13. hardware1197

Parros consulted his wife who said it appeared incidental because as she put it, « If it was intentional, I would know what that looks like. »

  14. crabapplesteam

What the actual fuck? I thought it’d be at least a game – elbow to the head, head into the boards, upward motion on the check, and left his feet. It’s literally everything they’re trying to get out of the game.

I don’t understand this at all.

  15. TheIncredibleHork

Wheel of morality, turn turn turn.
Tell us the lesson Austin Watson should learn.

    We kicked him out, no?
    Isn’t that enough?
It’s not like he spit on someone.
    So why give us guff?

    You’re just being pissy.
    And think you’re treated unfair.
    But we’ll fine you $250k.
If you even hint that we don’t care.

  16. mhroblak11

Ah shit James Dolan is going to fire Chris Drury on Sunday

  17. HockeyVG

Fucking lmao – I knew this would happen too. League continues to show how much they care about head injury (hint: it’s zero).

Edit: Yea nah, need to say more on this – that was legitimately one of the worst head hits I’ve seen recently. It wasn’t a flukey play, it wasn’t a head down or follow through, that was just a complete 100% head shot with zero regard for safety or good hitting practices. It’s a literal fucking joke how this league treats player safety.

  18. Deathbysnusnu17

Did Watson apologize to Motte personally and make a public apology to avoid a suspension?

  19. No_Designer_5374

    Slew foots? Fine.

    Head shots? Fine.

Ottawa player high-sticking his own teammate? Penalty on Rangers.

  20. Kingstist

I just don’t get why they thought putting a piece of shit goon in charge of player safety was a good idea.

Wouldn’t like, an actual hockey player who was normal make more sense since they’re the ones in danger?

At this rate may as well hire Matt Cooke

  21. paulsoleo

So, how does Parros explain this decision, since Watson’s hit pretty much involves everything they say is deserving of a suspension?

I’d like him to break it down for the fans, frame-by-frame, and explain with a straight face how this is not an attempt to injure a player in a clearly vulnerable position.

  22. Waverly_pl

He didn’t get a hearing because then the NHL would be forced to acknowledge his lengthy and disgusting suspension record

  23. PrimeVector19

The league just hates the Rangers. It’s that simple. Same reason why Miller got suspended the way he did, and the same reason why Tom Wilson wasn’t suspended almost two years ago.

  24. ras5003

Surprising. Saw the hit and it looked even worse than the Jeff Carter shot on Makar. Note that there was no discipline for Carter either, or even a 2 minute minor! I thought the league wanted to get head shots out of the game?

  25. OMGki11edkenny

“Screw the Rangers button” is being pressed a lot more often this year it seems like

  26. Herplederple1

Huge problem with this , league picks and chooses who to suspend probably based on old boys club connections , there is no wheel there is no random decisions it’s all calculated bullshit . Player safety doesn’t matter .

Bruins players are allowed to run wild for the last decade and even now still. I guarantee Collin Campbell is still influencing suspension decisions. Parros is a puppet. Marchand allowed to lick people. Marchand allowed to slewfoot. The golden boy Patrice Bergeron never does anything wrong!

I genuinely think there is Rangers hate involved , they don’t care that our players are getting injured on cheap hits. They never will. Id make another statement if I was the rangers. At least it got people talking

  27. Jokercard08

MAN for a league that apparently has no bias against this team, things sure do go against us more often than not, coincidently of course.

  28. Devils fan coming in peace. Watched last nights game and thought this deserved 2-3 games. This league is a joke. Hope Devils and Rangers are healthy come our inevitable playoff match up, excited for the rivalry to be back in full swing!

  29. Alitaki

Between that hit and the Oshie hit, this league is really trying to send a message to the Rangers.

  30. Suspicious_Scene_972

Ugh… I really miss the age of the enforcers in hockey… somehow, believe it or not, it was actually more civilized

  31. BuryCrack

Isn’t this hit the definition of all the shit this league talks about player safety and headshots? You can literally see Watsons elbow buried in Mottes face from the one angle.
