Kid line looked good everything else was pretty garbage. Realistically I don’t see who we can catch in the tanking maybe St. Louis in Philly but we’re gonna have to lose a lot. The thing is we should be playing some kids it’s not like the nhl guys who are ufas are exactly giving 100% Get hagg oesterle and Erne out of here and give it to some kids that are trying to make the big leagues.

I thought I’d feel better to switch to the tigers game. Man was I wrong.

Wings have looked dead inside since the Tampa game. Need to get their heads back in the game or it’s going to be a long, ugly end of the season.

  4. SpiritBamba

Only 20 more games to lose to increase our chances at a superstar…

  5. I made a comment like two weeks ago talking about how Perron played with an edge that led to him drawing more penalties than penalties called against him…

I would like to take that comment back now.

It’s going to be hard to watch these last 20. No fire or fight. And to think we were in the running briefly. Since Tampa, it’s like our balloon got popped.

    Hope next year is better.

Soft effort from a team that has visibly given up on the year. The book’s wide open on how to beat this team.

Stevie has got his work cut out for him this offseason. He’s gotta get some people here who don’t fold the moment the pressure rises and when adversity comes their way.

  8. waffels

Angry “smack the boards constantly” Larkin is back. Not good.

  9. Shotokanguy

I know this isn’t a great roster at this point, but I don’t think it’s this bad. There are some serious fundamental issues with how they’re playing.

  10. Salamangra

This is gonna be a long end of the season

Hard to win in the NHL when you don’t put together a competitive 60 minutes. Facing a Vezina-caliber goalie doesn’t help either, but the defensive structure has been poor lately. Hellberg gave this team a chance to win until they mentally broke. Nice to see Mo making that sweet pass to set up Larkin’s goal though. Have to find some positives from this.

Fun Hellberg stat: Today was his 9th start with Detroit this year. In 4 of those we have given him 0 or 1 goals of support.

When they play like this, my grandpa calls them the “Yellow Wings.”

  13. jimboknows6916

They kind of suck, to be honest.

    Chiarot is a pylon

    Raymond is useless this year

Perron is actively working against us

  14. WearyDirt

No excuse why the Griffins shouldn’t be giving us at least some hope for playoffs. Last in their division with all that talent. Fuck Ben Simon

  15. non_target_eh

Jimmy Howard, size up the suit my guy.

  16. Problemwoodchuck

Hellberg got hung out to dry on that one, could’ve been over in the first period.

Does Lalonde ever adjust lines mid game? Nobody wants the line blender back but after 2 periods of ugly hockey by the Wings, it seemed like a good time to juggle the lineup.

  17. doltron3030

I know he just had a baby but if Newsy believes in accountability, Perron will be scratched soon. Dude is killing this team with untimely penalties.

  18. Flowsnice

We went from a decent team to terrible in about a week.

  19. DelusionalDETfan

Yzerman should get better players that can pass good and score and hit and skate faster

  20. poutinetrough

I’m still on the ras is our glue train

  21. jimboknows6916

To be honest, I’m struggling to find hope for next year.

    What’s going to be different?

EDIT: instead of just downvoting, can you point out what will be different next year? I mean you can still downvote of course, but what’s the change between this and next year, outside of off-season trades, that changes this team?

  22. Isphet71

Games have been a bummer lately. Started with the Ottawa games. Something went off the rails after the Tampa loss.

  23. CarlinHicksCross

Such a bummer that not only did we lose talent but everyone just looks completely uninspired and like they don’t give a shit.

At some point you gotta wonder how the culture gets turned around and are guys buying in? We’ve been losing for so long. Knowing the wings we aren’t gonna call anyone up to give them a shot either outside of maybe a few for edvinsson, and the fa market next year is trash. Really crossing my fingers on big developmental strides for our younger players and Kasper somehow pushing the roster.

  24. Go get the hot sauce. Our wings are done.

  25. xenonwarrior666

So is bottom 5 realistic? Or do we pick at 8th like we did last year.
