Panarin scored 4 against Canes and 2 against Canucks just from throwing pucks at the goal. Now he only looks for passes again

3rd in the NHL in turnovers per game can definitely be seen today. Also why the heck are we giving up the center of the ice in the defensive zone. Countless times I see nobody in front. We also have gotten away from our forecheck. Hopefully this little break help them get on track.

Interested to see if the people who told me that “Goodrow is one of our most important players” and “he is still good defensively!” Still feel that way after today’s disasterclass by him

  4. Stonewall30nyr

All things considered, playing with 5 defenseman and 11 forwards, and missing 2 of our best defenders, losing 4-2 is not too shabby

They are not using Tarasenko correctly on the power play. Panarin and Kane are too much passing and need to be split up.

Can we add the number of combined turn overs by panarin and kane to the team stats please.

Anyone with half a brain could’ve seen this coming with Panarin and Kane. Panarin will continue to do nothing other than force east-west passes all game long, even more so with him around. Panarin has been and still is incapable of making adjustments and the fact that he wasn’t moved down in the lineup today says a lot about Gallant. I’m jealous of Boston and the fact that Pastrnak basically got the same contract. Dude is double the player Panarin is, no matter how many downvotes you throw at me.

I’m not mad, I’m just disappointed.

Jesus Christ you guys weren’t kidding about the PGT on r/hockey. So many devils/canes fans gloating that we lost, pretty pathetic.

How worried should we be about losing 3rd in metro? Penguins aren’t too far back with games in hand

  12. UpmostGenius

I’m not gonna start judging this new lineup until they have more than 1 day of practice

Now that some time has passed, I feel like this team has way too much talent to not be in the running to win the whole thing. When healthy, they should be right there with anyone else and if they aren’t then there needs to be some major changes this off-season, both coaching and players.

For now though, I’m confident they will figure it out. LGR

They need this break for the next 4 days. Get some practice in. Let the new guys adjust. They got a taste today of where they need to be. Rise to the challenge, we want the cup.

…Also separate Kane and Bread, I can’t watch that shit again

  15. pick69itshilarious

The only thing I’m truly struggling with is that they have ALL the tools to win, and they just… aren’t.

I’m not dooming (surprisingly) but I mean come on.

  16. funkingrizzly

Well it’s going to be nut up time next week, they got to figure the lines out in practice and stick to them. I wouldn’t mind seeing Kane with Zib and Kreider

  17. Monfwizzy

if they come back from the 4 day break playing bad, then we can doom and complain. till then stop lol

  18. bjisba41

Panarin needs to stop forcing passes to Kane, its kinda obvious it’s happening and Ottawa and the Bruins picked up on it

  19. Very short handed against a recored setting team, didn’t expect much else today.

  20. jerejeje

Kakko has 24 points his last 36 games

Laf has 13 points in his last 18 games

Are these arbitrarily chosen boundaries with no significance? Yes. Will I bring up these numbers anyway? Yes.

Hawks fan checking out Rangers games now–I don’t like Trocheck centering Kane and Panarin. Anisimov was a great center for Panarin and Kane the last time those two played together and I don’t see Trocheck as being someone the defense has to worry about–they can simply look to stop the cross-ice passes between Kane and Panarin so their line is easier to defend. Would Chytil be a better fit? Is he defensively capable enough to pull the extra weight required on that end of the ice with those two? I also noticed Fox was always within a stick length of Kane when they were trying to get out of their own zone. He’s gonna have to earn those Norris votes now.

Everything I’m seeing said about the Kane and Panarin pairing now is what Hawks fans said as they were getting the doors blown off in round one against Nashville the only time those two were in the playoffs together. I love me some Kane and Panarin, but for all of the showtime highlights there have been plenty of adventures in zone exits that didn’t make the highlight reel.

  22. Envelopen

Would settle for 3 goals against the last one didnt need to happen, alas were short handed but bruins just very talented and lucky this season. Hate boston sports so much

  23. PullWingsStrings

For the love of god please get Kane off of the Panarin line.. I understand Nostalgia, blah blah. I’m Wings fan, I witnessed my team in the early 2010’s get terrorized by Kane, he was always quarterbacking the play, he doesn’t seem to get that chance on the Panarin line. Putting him in the Kreider line would be far more similar to what he experience in Chicago, Toews, and Kreider kind of have a similar game/role, it just seems like such a great fit.

  24. Academic-Value1876

At least Laf had 2 goals so in the end I win
