  1. Looks like Raymond & Seider can now ask for the moon. Very little left of the top money guys EXCEPT Copp, who has been an offensive speed bump. Let's see if Ilitch spends to the cap to get a competitive team next year. I'll be he goes all fiscally conservative next year

  2. Wings did also have to retain 50% in Vrana this year and next, not sure if Shannon mentioned that. From what I’ve been seeing it was still cheaper than a buyout at least, so Wings did well there

Still disappointed how this all ended with Vrana, wish him the best in St. Louis

  3. Just what the Penguins needed. Another mid-30's forward who even in his prime was just a bottom 6 player.

  4. Love the vrana pick up, low risk high reward, I hope he finds his game in stl!

  5. Lol nothings happening because everything happened before the deadline

  6. Blues and Wings love trading with each other. The Wings giving the Blues Vrana for practically nothing seems like a thank you for Walman.

  7. I think the Pens actually improved their bottom 6, and that was the biggest glaring need.
Granlund and Bonino > Kapanen and Blueger.
McGinn is still in the organization and can be called up.

I just wish they would've kept Blueger.
One bad season Isn't enough to sell me that he isn't a very solid player.

  8. Bonino at least has chemistry with the core guys on the Pens, not sure how much it will actually help them but he’s at least a serviceable player for a lower line

  9. Detroit retain half this year and half next year , great risk for blues since Detroit is paying half of contract low risk high reward if he stays clean

  10. The penguins managed to somehow get older during this trade deadline…. They don't have a center below the age of 34, assuming Bonino slots in as 4th center.

  11. 1:30 How is that impressive? They lose a very good scorer that they refused to give a chance to and have to retain 50%…

  12. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say the broker is the Yotes and they are taking on as much of Bonino’s contract as they can in exchange for a 2036 7th round pick.

  13. Really sorry it didn't work out for Jakub in Detroit. Injuries and then player assistance program. When he did play he scored. Best wishes to him in St. Louis.

  14. Apparently the Domi trade had to wait until after the game because Dallas had 23 players on their roster (due to havinf Matt Murray up) and needed to send someone to the AHL to fit Domi in. That obviously needed to wait until after the game.

  15. sharks signed bonino as an FA i believe and eyssimont off waivers, and now both have brought back picks to the org. not bad overall for a team that is rebuilding (we all know they are, team president jonathan betcher and owner hasso plattner just dont want to admit it while grier tries to secretly rebuild)

  16. Thanks for the info, and please help your cat to get rid of the fleas. Nice news about Bonino. Are Kessel and Hagelin going to join him?

  17. The blues are on a mission to revive misfits (Blais, kapanen and vrana). The last one seems to be a solid for the blues giving up fabbri, walman and husso.

  18. There is no NMC in Vrana's contract which goes through next year. So if he doesn't work out in STL they can move him to AHL and get the cap hit off their backs. Hope he takes his recovery program seriously. He gives Blues a shooter who can score, especially on power play much like what Hoffman did for them for a while. Gave up no assets to speak of. Good low risk move by Armstrong w/ Detroit retaining 50%.

  19. Shit Shannon that pens jersey sucks. I recommend flames jerseys and only flames jerseys

  20. I know that Nick Bonino is a bit older, but I am really glad the Pens got him back because he has played well this year for the Sharks and he is the type of player they need for their third or fourth line.

  21. The Vrana deal seems like a reverse of the Fabbri move a few years ago where one teams is aware they are giving up the better guy with a minimal return, but willing to do so because they werent moving forward with him and wanted to help give him a fresh start and get him off the books (or mostly off the books in the case of the Vrana deal)

  22. Hockey Guy…Love your content, deep knowledge and analysis!!…Its most enjoyable, keep up the great work!!
