Auston on returning: « Not great. I mean, just try & grind my way through it. It didn’t feel too great, but felt fine to play. Just caught me in a weird spot and just stung & still stings. I was able to get it to calm down and able to get out there and grind it out. »

Well, just hope he’s back by game 1. That’s all that matters at this point anyways.
If his hand is broken we’re absolutely fucked
All I can do is hope he can return for game 1. A quick google search shows a broken hand can take 6-8 weeks to heal so hopefully it’s not that bad or else they’re looking at round 2 territory I think for a return. If it’s just a broken finger it could be 3-4 weeks only I think. Either way I’d be shocked if he didn’t end up missing a few weeks minimum.
The good thing is it looks like it hit on the finger you can play with a broken finger if needed with enough freezing and extra padding. You cannot play with a broken wrist.

Amazing that was the only injury, Tavares looked like he got roughed up with those two hits and even Matthews returned. In that sense it seems like we’re lucky?
