How come you can jump like that and not get in trouble?

Tyler Myers is such a POS
johnyrockets81
That was a good clean hit. It wasn’t late and he don’t target the head. He didn’t jump either, the impact caused his feet to leave the ice.

Bunch of soy boy Leaf fans in here weeping. Great hit.
acg515
Any hit on the Leafs is a good hit

This is why I hate the « leave their feet before contact » thing. They have it because contact can cause you to leave your feet, but the contact here is not causing him to launch that far off the ice
phantompowered
The contact is made while he’s got both skates fully on the ice. The jump is to try to avoid getting tangled up in Tavares’ legs.
Toronto fan tears are delicious.

Number 96’s leg saved Tavares’ head from hitting the ice at least
Hopfit46
Johnny took a couple of big hits tonight.

Every once in a while, Myers remembers that he’s 6’8 and it’s beautiful

decimated him

David Lee Roth approves.

I broke my leg in a play exactly like this. Imagine I’m #96, but Stamkos actually lands on it hard
Apex-Detroit
Did he at least blow the freight train whistle first?
Keep your head up dude.
He got caught in the trolley tracks for sure, hope he’s ok
Conscious_Dependent3
The old jets defense just making open ice hits all over the place
okokokoyeahright
IIRC the ga,e started with the Leafs dishing out a couple pf solid hits. This looks like a bit of payback TBH. Nice clean solid open ice no head hunting sort of Old School body check that has been out of fashion. I think Larry Robinson would approve.
Straight_Tomorrow_11
Will never understand why we refer to it as “leaving their feet”, where the hell did they leave em?
The-answer-is-forty2
It’s truly a thing of beauty.
Material_Mall_5359
Surprised he didn’t get a 10 game suspension considering he hit the pajama boy
TheCivilRanger
Just glad that skate blade didn’t run across the back of his neck to be honest. That could’ve been soooo much worse.
Shawnaldo7575
Imagine if Vancouver tried this hard against the 30 other teams.
