Fascinating is probably a stretch tbh. Hronek and Chycrun are probably comparable but we’re in no position to be trading 1st round picks for 25 year olds.

Lundkvist is nowhere near as good as Hronek and cost a 1st and 2nd. Granted he is 3 years younger but it doesn’t make up for the difference in quality.

Looking at Hronek clips, he looks like he would help us out a lot.

My concern is how much of his rise in the NHL is because he played alongside Seider? I’ve seen Red Wings fans on the hockey sub bitter about losing Hronek, but also saying he looked unreliable on other pairings. Not too sure how much of it is just post-trade talk and how much of it is true.

Hope he’s a stud with us and either complement Hughes well or lead the 2nd pair for years to come.

EDIT: looks like I’ve been misinformed of seider and hronek playing as a pair sorry!

**Seems like the podcaster’s overall sentiments are that:**
    1) has ‘risen like a phoenix’ out of nowhere this year (offensively and definsively)
    2) he’s durable
    3) worth surprisingly close to Chychrun, who got ironically traded same day by the difference of a 2nd rounder

**Which could mean a few things:** #1 he played himself out of town? (like Miller almost did last year) #2 DET isn’t comfortable paying him big money due soon #3 doesn’t match their style? #4 DET is probably mostly unsure how ‘for real’ his emergence is in small timeframe (ie. ala Kuzmenko)

I think if Hronek had been in rumors as much as Chychrun the hype would be much higher when he came to Vancouver

Chyrchrun is great but he also plays the left side and has only hit the 60 game mark twice in 7 seasons, I’d be a little concerned about his durability and I’d honestly pick hronek out of the two. Especially since he’s a rhd
