  1. Sid – Zucker – Granlund
    Rakell – Malkin

Granlund had 28 PPP's last year. May as well use him if you're paying him 5M x 3. He's a quality passer.
Sid has really good results with distribution on the left side historically for whatever reason, despite being the wrong handedness for it. Seems to thrive on the opposite side of Malkin, since that spreads the attention of the PK'ers.
I don't see the need for a defenseman when we give up so many shorthanded chances against with D-men on it as it is. Rakell can slap it just as well as Letang, and probably will be smarter with distribution and zone entries.
Zucker is the hungriest Penguin this year and doing a great job on PP2. He deserves a chance as net front on PP1.

Would be interested to see the results.

  2. You know its bad when Jeff Carter is on the second power play. I know he basically just wins faceoffs but damn.

  3. Put Carter out on PP1 to take draws and stand in front of the net. Leave him out there for 30-45 seconds. Let Granlund run PP2.

  4. The PP hasn't been the same since Kessel left. Very predictable and easy to defend. Not too mention we also had Patrick Hornquist infront of the net and a great scorer in the bumper spot

  5. I prefer Petry on the point. Letang doesn't shoot enough hes always looking for Sids stick for a deflection.

  6. I believe their power play would improve greatly, simply by swapping out Rakell for Zucker or Rust. I notice Rakell misses the net more than anyone else….even from 10 feet away he often misses the net completely.
