I’m just here for the bazillion “remove the moving ads from the boards” complaints.

I don’t remember the leagues but I think it’s most of the European leagues that score every game worth 3 points in the standings.
Regulation win 3 points
OT win 2 points
OT loss 1 point
There has been quite a bit of discussion around this on here and other platforms and I think it would spread things out more. Teams would rather have all 3 points than to settle for 2 preventing boring last few minutes of play.

Get rid of back to backs. Worthless second game, almost zero energy. Applied to basketball and hockey
Fit_Use9941
1-8 format for sure
EdmOilers123
3 points for a regulation win, 2 points for OT win and 1’point for OT loss..
Maximum_Badger5604
1-8 and more inter division games
Darth_blaze69
1-8 playoff format, this divisional wild card crap is terrible

Have more “series” games. Like, STL vs. COL or NAS or CHI, etc. for 3 games in a row. You’d get those intense rivalries going. It’s cool to see the rest of the league, but I don’t care about watching us play OTT twice a year.
ohmygravey
Make the game easier to watch. One streaming service, one price for 1 team + playoffs, another price for all teams all games. No blackouts ever for any reason at any time.

1 Streaming Service:
-You pay a set price for a single teams entire 82 games+playoffs.
-You pay a higher set price for the ability to watch every single game that year.
No blackouts. You get exactly what you pay for.
TheDoubleH
I haven’t done the comparison; but points like soccer: 3 points for winning, or 1 point each for a tie. Overtime and shootout wins are really not telling the story of the game.
Just my 2 cents.
dragosn1989
3-2-1 points and 1-8 playoff
The_G_89
4 and definitely 5 maybe 6 and have the tie/OT loss be 1 point, OT Win = 2 points, Regulation Win = 3 points.
Keetonicc
Regarding points, they should just make wins worth 3 points, OT/SO wins worth two, and OT/SO loss worth 1. More indicative of the teams performance over the year and gets rid of some games having 3 points instead of 2.

Make it easier to watch. I have to use streameast to watch most Stars games, just a bit ridiculous. MLS’s deal with Apple TV should be the standard

Offside reviews are mostly terrible, and few have any impact on the play.
Every Game should be viewable from any location without VPN etc.
OT is too short, 3 vs 3 sucks, it’s either end to end or skating in circles, shoot out sucks too.
Season is long enough.
Fuck Bettman.

As a casual fan my biggest problem is trying to watch the games. I would love to watch every game but I can’t without bunch a other bullshit I don’t want and with the cost of living the way it is that’s a luxury I pass on. If I could just pay X amount of dollars to watch every lightning game kinda like I do with F1 streaming I would.
potato_soup303
I don’t know why people hate shootout that much. Personally I like it. And it doesn’t happen that often anymore compared to the 4 on 4 ot days.
-For the players, I would reduce the training camp length and make the season start earlier so that there is less back to back games.
-Put a 2 mins timer on reviews, if you can’t determine in 2 mins if its offside or if the puck did or did not cross the goal then the call on the ice should stand.
-Have no games on trade deadline day.-Playoffs should go back to 1-8.-And for the love of god, make it easier for fans to stream their team!!!
(Edit) one more, never ever have an other offside challenge in an All stars game.

Where is remove the green screen ads on the boards? I’d just like to watch a game without a headache by the end.

Lots of good options here. I hate the idea of a play in round, though. A terrible team can get in with a little luck. I also hate the idea of removing the salary cap. It would ruin the game
Chrispr30
The offsides reviews are brutal. 7mm offsides 37 sec prior to the goal. No goal. Ruins the game. Been watching hockey a long long time and those reviews crush any flow of the game over the smallest fraction of bullshit.
GASSTATIONWEED
I would pay anything to have all games on 1 streaming service

1. Get games on local OTA TV, burn local sportsnet and banish them to hell. People need to be able to discover hockey without Subscribing to a provider.
2. Move Coyotes to Quebec City
3. Do a better job of capturing crowd noise on American broadcasts (Canadian broadcasts do a much better job and it makes the energy feel so much better)
4. Set aside money for working class kids to play in a hockey league.
5. Make it mandatory for teams to buy an arena in each NHL city to provide low cost hockey for kids.
6. Make Panini hockey stickers books cheap and available in grocery stores.
7. Make Hockey cards cheap again

Sure, yeah these are great. But the only one I demand is that the refs are held accountable. Let’s see a ref presser after each game.
