Tomorrow is must win against the islanders

  2. Really unfortunate loss. We were probably the better team tonight, but missing about 5 empty netters will sink ya.

  3. time2fly2124

    Home with goatheads: 8-1-0

    home with regular jerseys: 5-16-2

  4. MidnightMass26

Can’t even be mad, we played great and Stuart Skinner robbed us at every opportunity.

When Tuch and Jost return, I think you need to sit 77 and 71.

  5. iwantthatpurpledrank

Wish we won but amazing game to watch.

  6. trippyEDM

Wear black and red at home rest of the reason

  7. Son_Of_The_Empire

I’m really fucking sick of getting goalied at home

  8. OpabiniaGlasses

We got served Steamed Hams tonight

  9. TheFerricGenum

Edmonton’s Skinner came up big in the third, but we had so many chances in the second that we should have buried that this shouldn’t have mattered. Gotta finish a couple of those.

  10. UncleOrton

Sucks to not get a point out of that. Win tomorrow and we’re still in good shape. If we play like that consistently we’ll have a good shot.

  11. AudioCats

That was incredibly frustrating. Fair play to Stuart Skinner, he stole that game for Edmonton.

Any whining about Bryson, Olofsson, etc just misses the point. We got goalie’d immensely there. Hope the guys come out fired up tomorrow after that.

  12. ashrut711

5-16-2 now when they don’t wear the goatheads, just saying…

In other news, Sabres legend Anders Bjork with two apples tonight and the Hawks up 3-0 on the Sens

  13. sarcastic_man_13

I’m pretty close to the point to where if Bryson is playing, I’m not watching the game. On the ice for all 3 goals against. Maybe get a point if he’s not on the ice.

At least so far, Chicago is doing God’s work.

  14. osamagotpwnd

I can’t believe they’re making me hate the royal blues

  15. BARDLER

Played pretty well but couldn’t finish our chances. They also let off the gas way to much in the 3rd and didn’t generate enough for a go ahead goal or tying goal.

  16. CommaToTheTop

Played well, didn’t win. That’s the way it goes sometimes I guess

  17. adolce95

Honestly maybe the most normal game they’ve played all season. They also didn’t look like complete garbage with the empty net for once, which is encouraging.

Felt like every forward played a decent third period. Just couldn’t break through and got goalied. Oh well. Win tomorrow!

  18. BlueFetus

Oilers fan here, I thought that was a great game. Has Cozens been playing this well all season? I haven’t been paying as much attention to the East as I should be and loved watching him on the Jrs.

That one touch pass on the PP was so clean

  19. Green_hippo17

Zone exiting is a problem for a few guys on this team. The scoring touch was like just not there tonight, too many missed opportunities, skinner (Stuart) also made some nice stops when needed. Anderson was fine tonight but he let in a shitty goal that ends up being the game winner. That’s a frustrating loss, rly thought we should’ve had that, it’s annoying to lose those games in hand and just not even get a point out of it. Oh well win tmrw and it’s forgiven

  20. wildcatjack10

Wild fan checking in. Curious how Greenway looked in his debut?

  21. StartButtonPress

Can’t not get a point out of this kind of game. Greenway was forgettable, Olofsson invisible, and Power uncharacteristic (too many minutes this season).

  22. TroubleCrazy6190

I’m convinced that if we miss the playoffs it’s because we needed to upgrade our D. Boston, Carolina, Jersey, and Fuckin Toronto’s are playoff caliber. Ottawa looking better too. We also have the toughest schedule in the league remaining.

I’m hopping on the Connor Bedard train if we don’t make it. Crazier things have happened

  23. Xplayer

Last year’s team which was worse went 17-18-6 at home. This year’s team is on pace to be worse. No fucking excuses.

  24. incaseshesees

fantastic game, super exciting, would have loved to get a win, but we didn’t. too many missed chances.

I ain’t super mad, but I sure af hope we bring it for the Isles tomorrow.

  25. Dr3aMWeav3r

I hated that. Please smack the Islanders around tomorrow. Also, I never want to see Bryson or Olofsson on the ice wearing a Sabres sweater again. Couple of fucking saboteurs

  26. ShylocksEstrangedDog

Greenway had a couple flashes of good passing, but he was playing way to conservative, especially in transition. Gonna chop it up to first game with only one light practice on a new team.

  27. AdMaleficent9374

At least Sens are losing to Hawks. I guess.

We should all be proud what this team did to Oilers despite not having 2 of the most important players. Or 3 let’s say adding Jost.

  28. zamend229

That 4th line was clearly missing Jost tonight. They got absolutely ran over all game

  29. Elo2022

Likely unpopular opinion: Love Granato but his coaching in the second period against McDavid and Oilers was too cocky, loose, and just bad. 1) not having PP1 on the ice after TV timeout was really dumb 2) Not the time to over-experiment with his project, Greenway, by constantly changing his pairings including taking precious minutes away from Quinn on line 1. Sure, the Sabres had a good 3/4 of a second period in many ways but precious scoring chances against with McDavid in the houses can’t be wasted like that in a playoff race.

  30. bigphotographynerd

Great game by Bryson, sad that the goalie was piss poor today

  31. Sabres8127

I’m not mad, Buffalo played great tonight. Skinner was better than Skinner, only slightly, and only one of Cozens five shots went in. They played 60 minutes which they haven’t really done consistently this season so can’t be that disappointed. Hopefully they take this energy into NY tomorrow and beat the Islanders.

  32. stupidtyonparade

Just frustrating because opportunities like this are going to start to dry up. Zero help from the refs tonight, no icing at the end, no delay of game when it was rifled into the crowd, and no delay of game when edmonton swapped lines after the icing. just so damn frustrating all around. need to win tomorrow or it might be all over.

  33. _AmericanPoutine

To the Edmonton bozos chanting « Where is Eichel », I hope your lane on the Peace Bridge is clogged up for a half hour.

Frustrating loss, how this team is so bad at home (when not wearing the goatheads) is the 9th wonder of the world

  34. KitchenEquipment634

Why have 77 and 71 been on the same line lately?Isn’t it unfair to the remaining player to have them on the same line when they aren’t playing well?

  35. KitchenEquipment634

and….please tell me about Greenway playing.
Was he good? Where and with who might he fit?

  36. jhemrick95

This game isolated to me is, got out goalied and played really well, especially considering the freak they got on their side. Unlucky but great game.

Unfortunately, with context it’s, still can’t win games at home while we are not a bad team anymore.

By itself, good showing against a good team

    Incontext, so frustrating

  37. SergeantBleuCheese

I’m beginning to think we actually LOST the 2015 draft lottery

But in all seriousness this was a hell of a game

  38. residentrunner22

Really missing Tuch, would have been a different game

  39. Worth it to see Owen Power calmly diffuse a 3 on 1 led by Draisaitl in the 3rd period. I live for those moments. It was around the 13:00 mark.

  40. KitchenEquipment634

digressing from the main topic, but… What do you think next year’s lineup will look like considering Greenway’s arrival and Okposo and Girgenson’s contract expiring? Will Savoie and Kulich make their debut?
