That’s not a good sound byte.
Like the Seinfeld bit « Noone ever says it is what it is after somethin good….. ah i won the lottery, it is what it is »…. hahah
Hes been playin poorly for a couple weeks now. Get it figured out
I love Bunts and the value he brings at a sub-$1m cap hit is exceptional but his play this year is exactly why we shouldn’t be rushing to give him an 8 year contract
Player with 950k cap hit btw… Maybe we should have a true #1LW or #2LW?
He’s been a shell of himself since all the bullshit with the officials. I don’t blame him honestly.
Glad to see the boys are fired up before playoffs
Sounds like someone who’s frustrated with what’s being asked of him.
Regardless of your opinions on his temper, it’s pretty clear he’s at his best when he’s given leash to bite back. Ever since his meltdown with BOS and the officials transparently refusing to call penalties for him, he’s been mild mannered and pedestrian.
Looks like management didn’t like the direction he was headed with the obvious officiating bias but he’s been poor since.
Them adding defense and not using the 1st + Kerfoots contract to upgrade their top 6 is such a huge miss
He’s probably just sour he’s not playing with his pal Matthews anymore. Not a great look but he’s a firey personality. hopefully he can channel some that into on ice fire.
He needs to work on his touches a bit. A lot of plays recently have been broken up/incomplete because his puck handling hasn’t been up to par.
ugh… nice confidence
Is this the start of the 18 wheeler orrrrr
I hate that this sub allows tweets with no context but not shit posts. As if a tweet from hacky reporters isnt a shitpost lmao.
Everyone needs to calm the fuck down, we don’t know how it was said.
That could very well be, « I’m fucking miserable and frustrated and I wish this fucking reporter would leave me the fuck alone. »
It is what it is is not a good line at all
brutal response.. the fact that he’s a fan favourite while hardworking kerfoot is constantly abused by this fanbase is absolutely mind-bottling
I don’t know how much should be gambled on extending such an up and down player whose antics have clearly worn thin with the officials
To be fair, Bunting was always a beneficiary of playing with both Matthews and one of Marner or Nylander. A down year for Matthews should have the same known on effect you’d expect from Kunitz when crosby played hurt or was out
Your co-worker/team mate is making 10x what you earn and isn’t accomplishing fuk all. Why am i Going to play hard when they are not???
What a lazy response. Him and matthews are kindreds.
This is concerning
He’s still 5th on the team in points and goals, he’ll be fine.
Bunting is not a 1st liner, nor is he a 2nd liner, he is a 3rd liner at best.
Where is Matthews game?
While the snippet in the tweet looks lazy, there is more to this quote. Linked the article [here](https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/maple-leafs-notes-oreillys-tough-injury-buntings-demotion/), scroll down and catch the whole thing for context.
While he doesn’t look to enthused being interviewed, it’s not like he just says « I don’t know. it is what it is » and shrugs it all off.
He’s still on PP1 though, doesn’t look he’s demoted entirely.
Well he’ll be cheap to sign at least,
I think we know long term Bunting is back on the top line. He’s responded well to demotions in the past. No harm in trying it. Kerfoot, for all his lack of finish, has been very good defensively and in general has been a good player. Try to get over the salary and the fact we traded Kadri for him and there is really no reason to despise him so much. He is fine when he’s in the role he should be playing – which will happen eventually.
A1 Toronto media right here. We’ve just had a garbage road trip. Leave the guys alone.
