This team isnt bad enough to tank any harder than we are. Might as well enjoy some wins

It seems to me like this team lost some heart. Maybe the loss of Bert hit some of them pretty hard. I expect very little from here on out if I’m being honest. I also think the UFA signings last year are showing to be pretty weak. I really enjoyed Perron, but seems like Copp is not much more than a 3C (on a good team). Chiarot hasn’t boosted the D-core much at all. I think it’s safe to say that Stevie took the L on those deals. I figured this season was over once Steve pulled the trigger on Hronek, Bert, Vrana, and Sundqvist. I’m thinking we’re settling in at 7th for the remainder.

I’m not exactly thrilled with the way Lalonde seems to think they should play, but I like the way he talks and how he described the team’s mentality for now. I think the crash lasting a few games was natural, but you can’t just wallow in it. That’s no fun for anyone. If you’re giving up now, why play hockey at all? Why come back next year, if you’re not willing to try to improve and grow right now?

Nope. Embrace the tank.

Ras takes puck to knee, playoff hopes over.
