Is there any realistic scenario where we somehow pull of a Sedin style draft day trade and get Bedard (assuming we don’t win the lottery)?

Players cant deliberately tank, nor should you want them to.
It’s up to GMs (and owners) to make the right personnel moves to weaken the roster.
I’d rather know we have good Demko for next season, rather than bad Demko and an extra 2% chance at Bedard.

When Bedard wins a cup with the hawks while we’re still retooling you can all remind me how awesome those wins in March of 2023 were as consolation.
I’m sure we’ll still get a decent player in a few years with our 9th overall pick as we win down the stretch.
We need to finish strong. Next year is so important. Just like this year was this time last season. And that season was the year before that. This time will be different though.

Asking these guys in the highest level of competition to not compete is crazy to me. On the other hand, the gm could take this opportunity to trade older still productive players and to put players on IR to 110% heal any injuries at all.
