That’s not what « officially » means.
They are 16 points out of a playoff spot with with 19 games left to play. That makes them far from officially eliminated. It would just require a spectacular run combined with spectacular collapses from everyone ahead of them in the wild card race.
Their model outputs a probability, and the probability for the Blues making it is close to 0. That does not mean they are officially eliminated, it just means it’s very very unlikely they make the post season.
I call rounding error. <1% is still >0%.

If the Blues win out they have 98 points (Statistically Unlikely)
If the Blues win half of their game (plus the odd game) they have 79 points (Plausible). This is a Playoff Spot if Colorado wins no more than one game and loses no games in OT, or loses out but no more than 2 of those are OT loses, AND if Nashville gains no more than 9 points in any fashion.
I mean, if Chicago isn’t officially eliminated yet, neither are we
