As Petey finds his next level… canucks have done next to nothing in 5 years to improve the team's position. Had they properly done the rebuild in 2017, they'd be competing for more than simply a playoff spot… what a waste of 5 years
Let's face it, there was no way we were going to tank enough to have a shot at Bedard. We won't make the playoffs, but might as well bolster the players' individual stats.

Tried to watch the World Baseball Classic on another SN channel during intermissions. Sportsnet decided to describe the location of that game as "Taichung, Taiwan, PROVINCE OF CHINA". Does Sportsnet support the invasion of a soveriegn country by China? Whoever made the decision to add that last bit to that descriptor needs to be fired immediately.

Fun to watch, exciting to see the players do well… but a little bittersweet for the future of the franchise. I DO think the Hronek trade signals that management is hoping to build around our core of Pettersson and Hughes, rather than completely starting fresh — something our fans also want… but it's a tough balance for sure. With Demko playing like demko, and our forwards scoring well… finding a solution on defense may be all it takes to really push us to the next level — maybe a "rebuild" isn't the necessary solution then. And I will say, the Miller deal doesn't look so bad for the next few years, with the way he's playing right now. Hate to say it, but sometimes we fans jump the gun a little when things look bleak. Certainly this season is a wash… and it's true we're not looking like contenders even at our best right now… but I don't think we're AS far away from that as it looked a few months back when we were guaranteed to let in 5 goals a night.
