  1. HE HAS HIS HAND OFF HIS STICK TO BAT IT DOWN, ONCE HE REALIZES THAT ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN HE PUTS HIS HAND BACK TO HIS STICK AND EXTENDS HIS LEG TO HIT IT, 110% INTENTIONAL!!! But really it wasn't a terrible game and they got so many lucky bounces. None of their goals were really great plays. With all that being true, the sabres still had time to come back and make something of that game, but after that kick goal we just couldn't get over the hump. It was tough game to watch, that was a must win on our schedule and we couldn't get it done, if that's a must win playoff game, they are going to have to FINISH OUT GAMES

  2. What worries me is this shit going into next season. Not going to lie I'm pretty much done with Donny. It's the same shit all season even getting worse in areas that are important. You really think you can finesse a cup you bumped your head. Idk but I'm going to be pissed if I see this same shit next season. Don't want to see a couple players back either. The excuses are over next year. Cherries are popped balls have dropped time to play like men and ditch the girly system or ditch the coach. I can't watch another tank Wayne honestly I can't let's just work on shit rest of season stay healthy and hope to God Donny grows a pair

  3. That was a good goal, I don’t get why everyone is heated. Every day in the NHL guys open their hips to receive a puck that’s in mid air, this happened to bounce off him and in rather than down to his stick. It’s such a routine redirect play. Call was overturned because it wasn’t redirected with the skate, regardless of if he extended a leg or turned a certain way. Plus there was half a period to get it back and we couldn’t capitalize.

  4. So I unfortunately missed the last period of this game because I was watching Carolina and I watched a replay of that controversial goal and all I have to say is I feel bad for you Roam and all other Sabres fans. I understand what you’re saying about the Islanders deserving that game, but sometimes a goalie can “steal” a game and by the looks of it, UPL was on track to do this. Very unfortunate and the NHL should be ashamed… I hope you can get back on track and make the playoffs because you guys are exciting…and this is coming from a Lightning fan, which you guys don’t seem to mind getting physical with us so I’m curious why you don’t do it against other teams…maybe a new rivalry? Lol

  5. Greenway hasn’t played consistently in months, just moved to a new city and team, is trying to hear from all new coaches and get accustomed to a new system… it’s been 3 days lol. Cut the kid some slack.

Gotta remember playoffs this season are not the organization’s goal, the timeline was always next season. We don’t have what it takes yet to beat Toronto, Boston, etc in a 7 game playoff series. Who’s supposed to be playing physical, Bryson and Olofsson? Lol

  6. Wayne , horrific call by who else ? Toronto . Having Said that , this was a playoff type game , and we don’t have the physical make up for a playoff type of game . Really disappointing that Adams seem to not have a clue on what it takes to compete in the playoffs .

  7. Hey the NHL allowed it so you know what? The Sabres need to do that during a game. Hey Toronto allowed it so why not do it yourself?

  8. Toronto really screwed the pooch there; that was not a goal. If Fasching had been looking up in the stands or looking at a teammate, maybe it wasn't a goal, but Fasching was looking directly at his own leg and watched his whole action. It was an intentional kick very much like a soccer score. But I agree with Wayne the boys needed to play better.

  9. I think it’s to late to tank so many teams are already doing it. It was a sad game to watch and with every team winning it going down hill from here. Touch is a big loss not for hitting but leadership. 9:56 9:56

  10. You have to think they know they are a very soft team. They must look at the stats after the game and address the lack of hitting. Adams and Granato know what it takes to win and how the physical play ramps up in the playoffs. They have to say we'd be a better team if we were more physical…..they have to be right?
Granato knows hockey i just wondering what he is thinking….hopefully someone asks someday……right?

  11. I’m tired of the morale victory and I’m tired of this team not being able to but a tourniquet on a losing streak. I’m tired of how bad this team is in the 3rd period. This is NOT a playoff team, and it’s not because we are young. We are just not a winning team. This team finds ways to lose games. You can’t ignore that… we aren’t physical. We don’t block shots. We dont make timely saves… It’s just not a very good team. You can love them all you want, because of how young they are, and how “close” they’ve come. This is it though. This is what this team is. I’m done with the playoff talk. I don’t want to hear it, because it’s not even close!!

  12. It was 100% deliberate, and the call on the ice was clear and correct. He lifted and twisted his whole leg, like a soccer player would do to intentionally to deflect a ball into the net. I laughed when they challenged it, and then I was speechless..

  13. I swear the whole league is against us. The Hull goal, McDavid daft, This goal, when is it going to STOP! F*&#. I think they are still pissed at the Perreault draft when we first started that Vancouver was called and we corrected them.

  14. That was such a shit pathetic performance for a game of that magnitude. They deserved the L and don't deserve a wild card spot. Team is just way to sloppy & lazy when games really matter.

  15. Thanks for the "doorknobs" comment Wayne, at least you made me laugh about a terrible call!

  16. I played soccer growing up and that's a prime example of how to score mid-stride off a pass.

The skate doesn't matter because it goes off his leg, but to me you still need to take it into account. He turns his skate and leg to the left to play the puck straight on net. The skate still matters because it makes it overtly obvious he's deliberately trying to boot the puck at the open net. And I don't see how anyone could argue this is a deflection either. If you watch the overhead view of it the puck hits him and is traveling in the opposite direction it came in at, with a lot of force behind it.

My problem, with basically everyone, over this – This only isn't a kick when the puck goes into the net. Take this same exact play and put it in the neutral zone. The player will have been said to have kicked the puck.

  17. No goal. Purposefully redirects puck. That call changed the outcome. Yes, Sabres are soft, but the Isles should have to win without the ref’s help.

  18. I about fell out of my chair when they called that a goal the only reason is I think the refs were afraid to piss the crowd off that's my only justification for that

  19. Another tough one. Not sure what to even think anymore. Next three are all hard ones. Gotta Nut-Up now, No excuses. Time to find out, What do we got !!? Go Sabs !!

  20. I think this will be my last comment on losses because I was taught "If you can't say anything good, don't say anything at all". I think the league needs to get every referee in a meeting. Their calls against us and around the league have been pure garbage.

  21. I thought Greenway had 3 hits along the boards. GRNWY has to learn to use his body to protect the puck when he has it. He passes it to quick.

  22. On the ..no goal.. you can see the player take his lower hand off his stick to catch the puck.. he then switches to hitting it with his led..NO GOAL!

  23. This rule is incoherent. A player can direct a puck into the net with his skate and it counts, as long as there is no distinct kicking motion.

  24. Oh boy you said the T word ……I enjoy your RANTS WAYNE 🙌 Greenway net front presence on #21 goal. DONATAO to Greenway "hey we don't that here" we are figure skaters.

  25. I was at the game. Your squad was completely outplayed. The refs gave the Sabres plenty of gift calls, including icing calls where the Isles beat the Sabres D Men to the puck. Fasching’s goal was legit. Move on

  26. Tough call on that goal, it really could have gone either way…imo it should have stood as called on the ice. Fasching's leg was definitely moving towards the net. Especially obvious on the overhead view. I've seen goals disallowed for less. Look at Blake Coleman's goal in the Edmonton series last year that got disallowed. I don't know if it's really the same. Oh well. Sabres didn't show up either way, the hockey gods don't like that.

  27. To give Greenway a little (just a little) benefit of the doubt, he had a shoulder injury last year that required that required surgery in the off season. Because of it, he missed all 4 of the Wild's pre-season games and the first 3 games of the regular season. Then, he played all of 2:58 of his first game against Vancouver on October 20 before he was injured in a collision with Oliver Eckman-Larsson, sustaining an Upper Body Injury. Although the Wild said it wasn't related to his shoulder injury/surgery, you have to wonder. He was put on IR through November 22 and returned to play on November 23 against the Jets, missing the whole first month of the season. I'm guessing that Greenway's shoulder still isn't 100%. Injuries to any joint that requires surgery typically takes a full year to recover completely. Hopefully if that's the case, he'll be fully recovered for next season and will live up to his nickname of "Big Rig." Unless, as Wayne implied, Granato thinks he can turn him into another T.J. Oshie or something. I'm not concerned with that though. I'm peeved that during a playoff run where other teams loaded up for a run, GMKA went on the cheap and picked up warm body fill-ins for Rochester and two marginal players for the big club, one of whom may not be in a position to help very much if he may be playing soft due to a lingering injury.

  28. Also, how many times have I said we need to poach Xhekaj from the Habs. We have the assets to do this.
