1. Curiosity- I wonder if Orlov's performance may prompt Caps to re-evaluate their defensive system?

Perhaps his ole mates are thinking 🤔… "I didn't know orlov could do that? Maybe our defensive system needs to be changed up?"

Also makes me wonder whether coaches are "over- coaching"? These are gifted athletes with amazing vision.

The puck has an unpredictability unlike any other professional sports' ball.

We're not going to see LeBron, Brady, Ortiz, nor Pele do their thing sliding on 2 blades, going 30 mph…
    backwards.

    Hockey players are special!
    😁

Caps & fans might take a good look at how their defense is being coached, after watching Orlov fly with eagles.

Are perfection line ruled for years, that was the model for every other coach. Now, they're going to be emulating the bruins defensive system… Trendsetters!

I hope he knows how much we appreciate him. Must be tough leaving Russia, 11 years on the same team-then suddenly traded right before playoffs

I hope he feels at home &
knows we're behind him… even if he goes through a slump.

We haven't heard the consonant sounds ORRlov with SCORE! in four decades!

    Go B's !!

  2. If anything, it highlights the success Dmen can have in Monty’s system. I’d argue if Pasta didn’t take that crappy angle shot and passed it to a wide open Orlov he’d be tied with Paul Coffey. I hope players appreciate Monty’s system and take below market rates to enjoy the pleasure of playing in it. Something should be said about a bunch a grown men having fun playing a game they love.

  3. Hello Ian, this is Ian Weir # 1 Boston Bruins fan from Queens NYC. I have loved the Bruins since 1978. What Neely and Sweeney (who I loved as players) have done was ballsy and has paid off getting Monty. A side story for me in NYC, being in Alchoholic Annonymous since 2002, is that Monty is proof that you can recover from the consequences of Alchohol/drug addiction and thrive. Not just survive. I use his story in meetings now.
As far as the Bruins…OMG! How much pressure do you think there will be to win the Stanley Cup now?? the 2019 game 7 home loss will come back to mind…If the bruins stay mostly healthy, I think they will win the Stanley Cup, but Ullmark may have to turn into Tim Thomas to do it. GO BRUINS!!!

PS I have hockey cards and Newspaper clippings from the late 1970s and 1980s of the Bruins, let me know if you want ton see them, I will post some, I have a book full.

  4. Now we all know the difference between a man who declares to the media for the fans' sake that he's happy about his trade and one who loves the deal for himself.
Boston won the 023 cup with this trade.

  5. Monty's system is about as good as it gets for defensemen, and Orlov is a perfect fit for it, so it makes sense. Also, it's been a few years since we've had a rocket one timer from the top of the circle like this, Sweeney should really look at trying to extend him if possible.
