You're right DK, Zuck has brought it nearly every single night. Always seems to bring the heartbeat back. Interested to see if they'll be able to resign him, he's earned it. The team shouldn't haven't to rally behind him, but goodness I'm glad he's playing with this fire.
Clearly the Success Strategy going forward is 7 D and switch the goalie after the first period. Sullivan is really onto something here, really solved the POJ/Dumo problem in a creative way.
I don't have the stats to back this up but I'd say the pittsburgh power play is the worst power play of all time. The other team is just as likely or more to score than the pens on a power play. It's like they want to slow things right down so they can do their nifty passes through the slot but they slow it down so much they fall asleep!

I watched the highlights this morning. Crosby was 100% chirping Zucker about Zucker's whole PP2 is the real PP1 thing after the OT winner 🤣 If Zucker is anything like Max Talbot, a guy that was willing to give the superstars crap, his value goes way beyond his on ice performance. And his on ice performance is pretty darn good.
It is just so damn hard to justify a lucrative multiyear contract to an injury prone 31 year old. This is the 1st season he's been healthy and he might demand a 6×5 contract. That could turn ugly VERY fast if he gets injured next season.
There have been times this season — specifically in this latter half of the year — where I've said to myself "Zucker is the only one who cares." Aside from stripping the A off Malkin or Letang's chest and pinning it to his, which won't happen, I don't know what Sullivan or management can do to show the rest of the guys just how much Zucker's passion means to the team or their chances.

pittsburghers are hilarious. the last two seasons, people were begging to get zucker out of town lol
easy to notice the presence of Gudransson (sp?) last night….they called his name throughout the game. He was real solid and is a good passer. I liked him when he was in Pittsburgh..and the other teams players dont seem to want to mess with him…he would help calm things down when the opposition does the hack and sack thing in the playoffs…Seems like the pens are constantly in defensive flux..I think the D is a big part of their problem (including the goalies). I think the D we have out there now, would not allow us to get out of the first round
