Connor's overall pace – 68G 88A 156P
My guess – 70G 91A 161P
This would tie him with Mario for the 12th best single season ever, put him in third for career high single season totals, and the goal total would be tied for the 11th best season ever and 7th best career high total.
I'm optimistic he can continue this heater for the remainder of the season… straight through to his first Cup.
Additionally…
Should Connor continue to play this well NEXT YEAR, he could be flirting with the 1000pt mark. He's already 144th all-time in points, and will pass several more players this year (including superstar Tom Lysiak). If the stars align, he could be the NHL's second 2000 point man.
65 goals and 85 asslsts…
Ilya Sorokin would never!
I hope he takes the crown back from sh!t Russia.
Not hard reach 100-150 points nowadays, its like those times in 80s-90swhen most player in top.10 reached 100 pts. So this season by mcdavid are comparable too jagrs best season. You even have a defender erik karlsson reach 100 points. Its the era of paul coffey.
150 points
Mathhews is way better, way more of a complete player and waaaay better looking…or so I've been told by Leaf fans.
71 Goals; 92 Assists; 163 pts presuming he ratches up just a half notch from here on out; otherwise, if not: 68 goals, 88 assists and 156 pts
not fair 😡
156 points and 62 goals
Wild honestly, I’m a goalie and one of the hardest things to save is someone that really knows how to get you to move open up and put a puck just over blade height five hole. If you practice that it’s hard to stop. We are always programmed to keep you blade on the ice and that spot just over 2-3” off the ice is sooooo hard to see and stop especially if your transitioning to either side your 5 hole has no choice but to open up to cover the angle.
Adds another Hart Trophy to shelf this year.
Minnesota stops McJesus.
Connor McBEAST!
You can’t chase McDavid. You can’t hit McDavid. You really can’t defend him one on one. The only thing you can do is trap him. Problem is, even if he doesn’t have his lethal shot available, he can pass to whoever is wide open. He is truly a conundrum that’s for sure. Though no one player can carry a team to a Cup besides maybe a goaltender. Would I be surprised if he was the first player to do it? Not even a little.
I predict he'll reach the 150 point/70 goal plateau, get the Oilers to the Cup Finals (but fall to the Maple Leafs).
But I was hoping he reached the 50 goal-in-50 games plateau.
Like I said before, McDavid is like Gretzky, but with Orr's skating ability.
He's definitely going to come as close as one can to Gretzky in a 21st century career. He's just that quick with his skates, his hands and his mind. Definitely a generational player. So cool that he's playing on Gretzky's team too.
Only thing is that Gretzky had 4 Cups by this time. Just saying 🫢🫣
Most goalies don't even react until the puck is by them
I loved playing goalie, I'm no expert but Mcdavid is just THE generational talent. Not Crosby, Not Ovechkin. Despite their talents, this is the generational talent. I'm in Toronto and I'm just tempted to just watch Oilers games because of Mcdavid, the guy is just awesome to watch.
Pavel Bure….smooth as a skate on ice 🍦
Someone needs to either run their stakes or crash him into the boards and see if he's invincible or still can do it all, at some point performance enhancements won't get him far, or think he's better than anyone when he's cocky and a egotistic player
I suspect the other teams will adapt.
A problem I see with mcdavid is his inability to strengthen the team around him. Sure, there's Leon, but an ENTIRE team coalesced around Gretzky. A lot of Gretzky's teammates wouldn't be who they ended up being if it wasn't for 99. Gretzky's teams became the dominant teams in the NHL just three or four years into 99s tenure. Plus, they consistentlywon in the playoffs. Not like McDavid's teams. He's has way more years (and #1 draft picks) to build up a dynasty. He seems to not inspire his troops like Gretzky did. I mean, both are so good and flashy. Even Lemieux did a better job at team building than McDavid is doing.
He is a ledgend. I just wish he played for the flames lol
