100% he is. This team has grossly underperformed.
He really shouldn’t be as way too many over-valued what the Flames are and were going to be this season. I questioned which Markstrom were the Flames gonna get this year. The one from last year or the one from 2 seasons ago? Even the ridiculous notion that many media and Flames fans had about what they were getting out of Huberdeau & Kadri was gonna equate to what they lost in Johnny and Thachuk. Hub was on a very good Panthers team so I questioned, was it his skill that got those points last year or did he really benefit from a good team? Even Kadri, who is a really good player, was never gonna put up the points that were gonna be lost. Flames simply just weren’t gonna score the goals they needed with the current roster they have.
He’s the reason why our young guns don’t get anywhere. Valamaki was a good defence man barley got to play. Sutter gives guys who shouldn’t be in the line up top minutes and mixes lines up every game when we are less than 20 games left barley making playoffs. He has no actual offensive plan other than dump chase and grind. This style doesn’t work for hubby and kadri who both are underperforming to a level which another coach would be easily fixed by this and have them play on different lines because kadri and hubby both should be on different lines. Dube isn’t a first line winger but continues to stay in that slot. Hell I wouldn’t even say toffoli is a first line winger but that’s what this team has come to. Sutter is the reason why flames didn’t sign sunny milano who’s on a hot streak right now he was in our pto and didn’t cut the team. This is 2023 not 1990 sorry sutter you need to go.

Sutter should absolutely be on the hot seat but that team is a mess. Big money being spent there on aging talent. They were not really contenders and then they signed naz and huberdeau to big money on their ufa deals. Not a good situation
As a dyed in the wool Flames fan, I kinda want there to be fire around Sutter's future. He keeps disrespecting the players and forces the players to adapt to his style instead of adopting a style to suit the pieces he has. I will not miss him for a second if he is gone this summer.

BTW for defensemen I think you guys are to quick to not think about Makar. He has slightly lower numbers then top 5 but he also has over a dozen less games played then everyone else yet there he is still hot on the trail
This is a vote for an individual defenceman, not best playoff defenceman lol.. I also think defenceman should be judge more on defensive stats like Blocks / Takeaways / and Plus Minus more than points.

You Canadians are never patient with your coaches. That's why you will never win the cup.
It's the coaches job to put the players in the best situation unfortunately sutters play book doesn't work with these players
It might not be his fault but he bears some of the responsibility. Coach changes at this time could help the team short term. Firmly believe it's a new time in hockey and coaching. It is time for younger coaches to move forward and take the reins . Bowness in Winnipeg is another example his bark and intuition with young guys is way off.
