  1. A few years back, I used to make the argument that Giroux was the best player in the NHL. That was before McDavid, around the time Crosby had all his concussion issues, so with him out I thought Giroux was the best all-around player in the game. Of course he isn’t going to be that good now, but he’s got enough left to help a young team.

  2. But I heard that the Avalanche wanted to trade for him last year but he turned the trade down for Florida. Maybe his best chance to win a cup

  3. We miss him in Philly. Philly will never be the same. Giroux has high hockey IQ and is levelheaded!! Congrats Ottawa!

  4. I miss G so much… and I still cannot believe there are people in Philly who said the Flyers would be a better team without him on it.

  5. As Sens fans we cannot ask for anything more from Giroux, he has surpassed expectations by a mile. Fun fact: there is a really good chance that he hits 1000 career points against Philly on March 30.

  6. He's having a great season, and I am glad he is in Ottawa. I hope this team can pull it off and get in the playoffs.

  7. Giroux will play out his contract then join the sens coaching staff or management for sure.. he loves being here

  8. I'm so glad someone outside of the Philly and Ottawa fanbases realizes just how good Claude Giroux was and still is. The hate he received from far too many fans in Philly was mind boggling. I hate how the Flyers organization completely wasted most of the career of their last big draft pick hit but I hope he can make up for that lost time with a few good playoff runs with the Sens. Thank you for this video.

  9. Bummed about the loss, but we had been on a 5-game win streak. Pretty cool win for the Sens. They are a fun team in the East to root for

  10. As a Devils fan I always hated Giroux but respected his talent. Nice to see him playing for a team I really don't have any opinion on and causing chaos in the wildcard chase.

  11. 6 points out with 3 games in hand. It's a long shot, but it's doable. NY and Pitt need to shit the bed hard too.

  12. I've always been a Giroux fan. I had hoped he would have come to the Avs last year but I hope he continues to be productive for the Sens

  13. I knew that Giroux was going to finish his career in Ottawa about 6 years ago. One of my buddies did some trim work in his house in Kanata, while it was getting built that long ago. While he was still a Philadelphia Flyer. Which my buddy told me that the Srns were trying to sign him then. But Melynk was the reason why we were hav8ng troubles.

  14. I've felt the exact same way about Marc-Andre Fleury he's been my favorite goalie for so long and when he got traded to Minnesota last year its been a continued sense of disbelief that he's here. Its crazy how that can happen. Good for the Sens though! Hopefully Talbot stays healthy when he gets back and I wish them well in the East!

  15. Sens fan here:
    – Many of us Sens fans still have moments where we can’t believe he’s actually here

    – His leadership and compete level cannot be understated. Half the time he’s on the bench, he’s standing up hollering at the troops, keeping everyone motivated

    – And I can ASSURE you: His standard of play is still ELITE

  16. The SENS are playing meaningful hockey in March for the first time in 5 years. It's exciting for the fan base and no matter what happens, it offers hope. The SENS lost too many games at the beginning of the year. 2 more wins would have them in a playoff spot. It's ridiculously close. Either way, it's a great way to finish the year.

  17. Shootout to Vince Dunn… Still don't know if he was the one that stole my iPod in grade 9 auto 🤣

(I'm pretty sure it was the kid who did coke 😂)

  18. Philly misses G. He comes through when you need him. A great guy and a great captain. I'm so happy for him playing with his home team. I just hope he gets to hoist the cup. If anybody deserves a cup, it's him. Its crazy to see him in a different sweater. It's a shame that he was thrown on the back burner with the focus on two of the ugliest mugs in the NHL Alex Ogrevetchkin and sid Crysbe. We miss his face off percentage too. Nobody blames him for leaving. Nor the train wreck of the team. That was Chuck Fletcher who destroyed the team. But thankfully he's outta here. Danny Briere stepping in….I see good things to come. As for the rest of the season..we can lose every game and hopefully cash in on…well….you all know who I'm talking about. Lastly, thank you Carolina for that little gem.

  19. The sens looking extremely stacked moving forward and the cap situation is extremely manageable. Too bad about formenton and norris or that forward group would be off the charts

  20. I think Giroux’s gonna follow a similar path to pavelski. Never seen a line that can forecheck, and turn something into nothing like him stuzle and tkachuck. Exciting future

  21. Ottawa has a bright future under Giroux's wing. and its getting stacked. Sneaky good. Ottawa in the east, Edmonton in the west?

  22. Sens fan here, I'm still trying to process the fact we have Giroux, let alone DeBrincat and Chychrun. Its been a hell few years, and I'm glad we're finally getting a good return from all of these years of suffering.

  23. Thanks, Ottawa. Love Oilers fan.
I hope you guys make the playoffs.

  24. Don't worry about the slack about him being a hometown kid.. those are people that just know he was born in Hearst but has played and lived in Ottawa most of his younger day's till today even when he was a Flyer he still lived in Ottawa in the summer at his house and he always called Ottawa his home.. and we are welcome to have him. Cheers

  25. Pesky Sens as they used to be called… excited for them, I really hope they ride the momentum. Chychrun was a big pick up for the Sens too.

  26. He's still top forward, 35 in today's world isn't that old, back in my day some of the guys smoked cigs and drank after the game, they no way worked out like modern day athletes.
