    Expected lineup vs Oilers

    Kerfoot – Matthews – Marner

    Nylander – Lafferty – Jarnkrok

    Bunting – Tavares

    Aston-Reese – Kampf – Acciari

    McCabe – Brodie

    Rielly – Gustafsson

    Giordano – Liljegren

    Holl

    Murray starts

Interesting that Lafferty with Nylander and Jarkrok is continuing, maybe its just to limit JT’s minutes but I actually liked their footspeed together on the first goal against the Devils. Maybe this unit would work as a real option?

Could have a 1st line, 2a and 2b line, then shut down pair on the 3rd/4th line.

    1.Bunting – Matthews – Marner

    2a. JT – ROR – Kerfoot (?)

    2b. Jarnkrok – Laffety – Nylander

    3. ZAR – Kampf – Acciari

    Edit for context

I’m just glad we’re not actually icing Simmonds – Tavares

  4. HemiKooks

All this because he refuses to sit Holl. What a joke.

  5. SureExit

This reminds me of during the AHL run when he would play Bibeau over the better Sparks. They still won, but it was frustrating as all hell. Fucking scratch Holl ffs

  6. goleafsgo13

I’m dumbfounded by this coaching staff’s love for Holl.

  7. Jonesdeclectice

I’m curious why Keefe refuses to pair Gio and Brodie. They had insane chemistry in Calgary!

  8. LawrenceMoten21

    Just fucking sit Holl.

Jesus, what kind of dirt does he have on Keefe?

  9. lou_reed_ketamine

People in here really upset about Keefe experimenting with the lineup during a meaningless game in the dog days of the regular season.

We’re pretty comfortably locked into a playoff spot and the only team that could realistically catch us is playing pretty bad atm. As if we didn’t just have a strong showing without our 2C and captain vs one of the top teams in the league.

  10. georgie336

Why does he do this? it never works…

  11. Candymanshook

Fucking hate this 11F crap honestly.

  12. The_Dale_Hunters

Not a huge fan of this choice.

  13. carletondabare

I feel like if you’re trying to build chemistry and familiarity as you incorporate the trade deadline acquisitions into your group, 11-7 is pretty counter-productive

  14. The_Quackening

I feel like people need to chill with all the reactions to the lines.

They are going to try just about everything since they have so many new guys.

Can we just see it all plays out first before framing out?

Keefe is 129-55-24 as a NHL Head Coach. We should probably let him y’know…..Coach….without TOO much squeaking & moaning from the peanut gallery.

The guy has a ton of new players & 18 days left to try & get some chemistry happening.

    Do your thing, Coach.

  16. AustichMavarlander

Keefe really bothers me sometimes. Really starting to go full babcock. Especially his use of fucking Alex Kerfoot the shittiest hockey player on the roster. Lines are garbage. Guy refuses to use optimal lineup ever

I don’t see anything wrong with this. Gives the forward group a different look and keefe the option to switch around his D pairings and experiment a bit. Were getting closer to playoffs I wouldn’t be surprised to see a few awkward line ups just to see what we’ve got when we inevitably lose a player or 2 in the playoff or a pairing/line needs tweaking mid game. Should be a fun one tomorrow

  18. LimestoneLeaf

I have to admit that I don’t like this decision either. Last time we did that, it just seemed to increase the chance of forwards getting injured.

  19. TheGapInTysonsTeeth

Good call. Worked out super well the last time, so why not

  20. secks_see_guy

Considering the level of variability in Holl’s play; one night it’s like his first time playing hockey, the next he plays like Chris Pronger

You’d think the staff would want to go with a steadier option but they keep throwing him out there

  21. howsshegoin

the 11F 7D is so intriguing. I wonder if 10F 8D would be a viable option to maintain partner chemistry. it’s certainly worth experimenting with down the stretch.

  22. omgArsenal

Anything to keep Holl in the lineup

  23. xtzferocity

Sorry but yeah Keefe isn’t an NHL level coach.

  24. something_somethingz

I would like to see Bunting – Tavares – Kerfoot. Gritty line that would get shit done, and likely still put up a goal a game

  25. Bradg93

He absolutely cannot fucking resist having holl in the line up

  26. Unbelievable, he’s gonna ruin this team
