  1. Good game by the wings today! Hopefully they play this well tomorrow too.

  2. jaredsurreddit

Wings played great but the refs just really wanted the Bruins to win this one. Insane.

  3. big_phat_gator

Honestly this is the best case scenario for a rebuilding team.

  4. culturedrobot

Honestly can’t be too upset about that one. Wings held their own against the best team in the league

  5. FlynnLive5

Hmm yes I should like Boston to lose early in the playoffs

  6. Nautical94

Pretty good effort all things considered

  7. bandofgypsies

Probably more of less a fair outcome. Not a total snoozefest and had a shot until the end. Tomorrow hopefully as fun.

  8. Fishstixxx16

    Good game, didn’t get demolished.

  9. RedWong15

Refs suck but a competitive loss is probably best case scenario at this point.

  10. Wingo999

Your reward for having a good first period shouldn’t be taking the second period off.

  11. __rat_king

Some the takes today have been yikes!

  12. zze0001

Better team in the first. Terrible in the second. Pretty even in the third. I’ll take it against the best team in the league.

  13. jackstalke

Played really well, way better than I expected. They just ran into a buzzsaw. Tomorrow should be interesting. Both teams will be gassed.

  14. Kynatris

Larkin knocks a stick out of a players hand and scores. The goal is called off. Larkin gets tripped and Bruins go down and score. No call. Say one thing about this league, they’re consistent with their bullshit.

  15. Shotokanguy

I’m glad the game was worth watching, but it’s hard not to be frustrated when you get that kind of start and then waste 20 minutes and then come close at the end but never get a fucking decent shot on goal because you want to make fucking low percentage passes all the fucking time

sorry I just thought it would’ve been cool to beat the best team in the league

  16. OberonsTitan

That was supposed to be the fastest team to 50 wins in the history of the league? That’s all you got?

  17. The_ManWithNoName

We completed with the best team in the league. Sucks we lost but good effort.

  18. Llamatook

That pass by Seider at the end was smooth

  19. Dirty_Laundry_55

I can’t be too upset about that game all things considered. I just wish players would stop looking for the extra pass and just shoot the puck

  20. Wheresthesass

I only tuned in during the third, not too long before the Bruins scored.

I have dishonored this sub. I’m sorry.

  21. Japindian

Very okay with the outcome here. I was expecting an absolute blow out and embarrassment.

  22. tfoxsail

We sold at the deadline, are looking like a team ready to tank, and still ended up only losing by 1.

  23. johnnysappleseed11

The red wings aren’t good enough. That’s apparent. But they played a pretty good game here today. This was a big game for them. But what I’ve noticed, and it’s pretty blatant, the biggest games of the year for Detroit were marred by lousy officiating. I’m not saying the penalties we were assessed weren’t warranted. But there’s a lot of no calls that get called most nights.

  24. DatsyukDekes13

Add Greer to the long list of Bruin players I despise haha

  25. RedWingsFan1990

Game was rigged with how many calls were missed. Especially that trip on Larkin that went the otherway and Boston took the lead. Something needs to happen. GMs need to get together in protest the officiating as there needs to be accountability.

  26. EarthWonderful

    Hellberg still finished .921

  27. EmperorSuperJesus

We had a backup goalie in net and didn’t get blown out by a team who beats everyone. I know the theme of this sub this season is glass half-empty, but that’s a moral victory in my book.

  28. badgermanor

The last time none of Bostons 4 major franchises (Bruins, Patriots, Celtics, Sox) made the playoffs was 1950…

  29. Problemwoodchuck

Here’s to surpassing low expectations! It was a game at least.

  30. jaredsurreddit

Watching the refs just get worse and worse the past couple of seasons has me really worried about the product the NHL puts out. Who wants to go to a game just to see a ref job? All I ask is that the refs are held accountable or available for questions after the game because letting them just get away with making whatever fucking call whenever they feel like it is ruining the NHL for me.

  31. TheNation55

It’s actually kinda of amazing we lost by one goal considering we didn’t play for the entire 2nd period.

  32. drinkwineandscrew

Terrific start, absolutely dreadful second period and a push in the third. Great to see Chiasson have a solid game and get a goal on the board. Chuffed for him.

Mo got away with a few stitches when it could have been much worse, Hellberg did well on the whole and the 2018 line generated offence. Razor had a couple of nice Backchecks which is a positive even if he is on another streak where he’s lacking confidence to shoot.

Late robbery from ullmark was one of those where you know it’s not your night, but a solid performance against a team that is an absolute wagon, with the backup in the pipes and after the trade deadline. I’ll take it.

  33. Ouch owie my heart.

    See y’all tomorrow

  34. StanleyCup19

Is cross checking back to a normal thing in the league again? It’s been awhile since I watched games consistently. Refs put away the whistle in the second half of the third.

  35. daveathor

The consistent abysmal refs these last few games is genuinely killing my passion for hockey.

  36. InternalSelect9448

Plot twist… The league is rigging games against the Red Wings…. so it can rig the draft loto FOR the Red Wings.
