This was a must win and the Caps came through. Every point is precious from here on out, but if the Caps want to make the playoffs, then they’ll also have to beat the Islanders in their two remaining meetings. Winning against Florida and Buffalo is almost as important, but I just don’t see how we can make up ground on the 8th seed (the only realistic hope of making the playoffs) without beating the Islanders.
