What is up with this kind of injury happening lately? There were 3 or 4 similar injuries in the NFL last season and now this.

He is a great player. Its so sad to see him screaming in pain. Yandle is such a great guy to be holding back tears.
From just looking at the fall, looks like heavy stress on the interior collateral ligament and ACL/PCL. The knees never fully become the same again after injuries like this, they're season ending at best. At worst they end careers.
That was hard to watch and I can imagine the pain.

Looks like his lower leg got twisted and broke. According to articles, he had surgery and will be out 12 weeks, at least.

I was watching this live and I immediately thought we’ll there goes our season. Maybe a little bit selfishly so but I knew it was that bad.
