This sounds a lot like load management in Basketball which I don't think is a good thing. I think the best thing to do is keep pushing forward so that we don't lose rust in April.
Best thing the bruins have going for them is Ullmark. No one expected a vezina in net for the bruins, and phenomenal goaltending + depth scoring = cup (or bust).

the 1976-77 Canadiens would have set that mark had overtime and shootout existed back then. They still have the fastest 50 regulation wins in a season.

Cut down the minutes on lines 1 and 2 lean on lines 3 and 4 and rotate the players to keep them fresh. Halls coming back soon maybe Foligno too rotate the D and goalies until the playoffs.
As a Lightning fan, I'm not sure how to feel about Boston right now. By all means, they should be able to win the cup, but the 2019 playoffs refuse to leave the back of my mind. For Boston's sake, I hope they do what the 2019 Lightning couldn't. The aftermath of the sweep SUCKED. Our incredible regular season was practically erased by it. This Boston team doesn't deserve that.

That Tampa team had no playoffs experience. Bruins do. Some players won the cup while others lost to the blues. This bruins team is already battle tested

the thing that people forget about the most about 2019 is that the lightning were not even close to as deep as the bruins and the columbus team was stacked and they just fell short to the bruins, who went and played for the cup.
the other thing is that they have foligno who was on the winning side of things, and they have 10 or more guys with stanley cup finals expirence so they've been there before.
safe to say people comparing them to the lightning have no idea what is about to hit them.
A team only has to figure out a way to beat them 4 times in a 10-day period to get past them. Good luck with that.
I say take it easy from here on out: it's worked for T-Bay the last 3 years and why I don't buy their current slump – they've done it before. That said, with all of the pieces that have moved-around since the trade deadline, this feels like 2019 – a year where we'll see surprises and upsets.
For guys like marchy, bergy, and pasta I'd say start doing a one game on one game off rotation soon.
The President's Trophy curse is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. There are 16 teams in the playoffs. In 36 years, the number one seed (Prez trophy winner) won the Stanley cup 8 times. How did each of the other 15 seeds do over 36 years? Did #2 win the Cup more than 8 times? Did #3? Did seeds 2 through 16 all share the Stanley Cup 28 out of 36 times?
All for nothing if they don’t win the big one
Sorry MTL CDNS 1976 remain the most dominant team. In an era when the teams MTL competed with were competent due to less dilution of talent. I will give the current Bruins of putting together the best team in the current NHL era given the bench and recruiting strength to replace players such Chaŕa without much change in capability and outcome.
