Lol I like how Bedards “dip” is still in the stratosphere

    Him> Fantilli>Michkov / Carlsson

I want bedard though will be thrilled for any of them. I can’t wait to see how we look in ~5 years.

Heres a question for everyone in this sub if we were to win the draft lottery. Would people have their pitch forks out if GMMG traded 1st overall? Of course, the hall would have to be sizeable, but I could see a team like St. Louis shoving a huge hall back. They already have good pieces throughout their team where a bedard could put them into playoffs where as the Sharks would need a couple years of good drafting, especially defense and goal for us to really put bedard and the organization as a whole into the win column. If they were to offer three 1sts and two 2nds for Bedard, would the fan base disprove of that? Im just looking at teams like the Stars who drafted their core 3 in Hieskenen, Robertson, and Ottinger and wondering if that would be a better route than drafting bedard. Then spending the next 3 drafts trying to get all the pieces separately. I know we have a new scouting group, but I didn’t hate the picks we snagged last year and how Greier got us a nice package trading down. Was wondering if that would flip this fan base upside down. Just dont want us looking like the Oilers where Mcdavid could walk because we never were able to piece a full team together around him.

You know how much a bedard would do for ticket sales/jersey sales/marketing deals??!! That’s honestly a huge part of the business that we don’t realize as much.

We would have atleast 4 years with Bedard Eklund/bords/Shakir/Bystedt/ and others in our pipeline, as well as the next 2-3 drafts/offseasons to build better than the oilers.

Rather than looking at the oilers failing to produce with about 7-8 top 5 picks over the last 15 years, why don’t you look at the Avs, and Tampa, who picked in the top 3 multiple times in a few years and got a solid core.

We’re on pace to do that, and starting out with Bedard would be huge.

I’m still thinking we would suck for 2-3 more seasons with Bedard and be picking really high.

It’s hard to flub a rebuild/generational talent pick as hard as the oilers have flubbed it
