DD was one of the most unfairly maligned players to ever wear the CH, IMO.
The guy was absolutely shit on by a big portion of this fan base because he was put in a 1C role. He gave 100% every single shift and had a few very respectable seasons for the Habs despite it. Wasn’t his fault that he was put in that position and he still made the most of it and always gave a huge effort.
I remember seeing the penatly shot slapper live and one of the commentary guys actually seemed upset that DD didn’t make a move. He said something to the effect that he could ‘stick handle in a phone booth’ but he choose to clap it top shelf like a fucking boss.
Godspeed DD. I’ll always have a soft spot for ya.
