There was an article earlier in the year that explained our top line is deployed defensively as a shutdown line against the opposing teams top line. They spend a lot of time in their own zone and back checking to hopefully allow our very above average other 3 lines to do their thing.

Alison Lukan wrote an article a couple weeks ago going over players who have a positive takeaways vs. giveaways differential. Not only do the Kraken have two other players in the top 10 spots in the league (Gourde and Bjorkstrand), but Wennberg has the #1 takeaway/giveaway ratio in the league.
Wennberg is great, I just wish he’d shoot more when he has prime opportunities. It feels like he frequently has great chances and then passes it to someone else

Not just love for Wennberg, but for the team and how they play. The Kraken is the best team – from a forward perspective, at creating takeaways. 9 forwards in 5on5 are in the top100, and two of them are Burakovsky and Donato who doesn’t have big time minutes.
